There's always a special place in everyone's heart. For me, the place is my 1 . Every time I think of it, many people and things will 2 in my mind. 

I grew up with my grandparents in a small village. I spent a relaxing 3 there. In summer, I liked to collect dew （露珠） on the grass in the early morning. It was not 4 and it took me several days to get one bottle. After lunch, I often played games with my friends. It seemed that we didn't have sad things at that time. We always played 5 outside until sunset （日落）. I enjoyed watching the sunset. It was so beautiful that I still 6 it in my mind now. In winter, the roads often became icy after heavy snow. My friends and I were 7 the snowy days because we could have snowball fights. 

Now I live in a city and my hometown has 8 a lot. Many old buildings were 9 and many new buildings appeared. I know everything cannot stay the same all the time, but to tell the10 , I really miss the old days in my hometown. It always holds the most beautiful part of my life. 

My school will hold an English Week. The activity time is from 10 March to 15 March. All1 and English teachers will join in the activities. We will have many activities, such as singing English songs, holding speech contests, and watching English movies. But we have a 2 about the plan for the English Week, and all of us have  3 opinions. Some students think it could be a 4 of time, "We should learn English by ourselves, and studying in groups would 5 a lot of time. What's more, we have much homework to do, and there's no time 6 for us to do anything else." However, some other students said we should hold the activity of English Week because we can learn to 7 in groups in that way. It could 8 our English a lot. Studying together would be more interesting. I agree on the second 9 . We need after-class activities, and English Week is 10 useful and meaningful. I think it is worth well being held.

Amy and Susan both live an ordinary （普通的） life. They have an ordinary house, an ordinary job and an ordinary family. There is really nothing 1 about their lives.

So what is the8 between the two friends? Why does Amy's life seem so much better most of the time? The 9 with Susan is that she tries to do so many different things at the same time that she doesn't do any of them well. However, Amy takes everything one step at a time. She stays present in the moment and tells 10 to do just one thing at a time. 

Every kid in my neighbourhood knew about the Christmas Witch (女巫). She was an old woman who left her Christmas decorations(装饰) up all year long: a twinkling tree in the living room, a plastic wreath on the front door, and…

I was told the decorations were meant to get kids closer to the house so the Christmas Witch could take them, and I promised myself I would never go near that place. But when I turned fourteen, I got a newspaper road map and found I'd have to deliver(投递) papers to the Christmas Witch. 

My first day of delivery was a dark, cold March morning. The sky was just turning pink as I got close to the last house on my road map— that of the Christmas Witch. I walked up the stairs quietly and placed the newspaper by the door. Then I quickly turned around. Just then I fell down the stairs. I hurt my ankle(踝关节), unable to walk. 

The light was on. The door opened. Someone came out. It was the Christmas Witch. 

"Dear me, " said she. "Are you all right?" Speechless, I pointed at my ankle. "Come in; make sure you're okay, " she smiled, not a wicked- witch smile, but a nice smile. I had no choice. Holding her hand, I got into her house and was placed in a chair. "Relax. " She hurried into the kitchen and returned a moment later, handing me a cup of hot tea. "I call your parents, " she said. 

I told her my mother's number. She got through, told my mother everything and turned, "Your mother will be here shortly. ""Thank you, Mrs Wright. ""You're welcome. " She sat down across from me, smiling. "You don't have to call me Mrs Wright; you can call me Christmas Witch. "

I was a bit embarrassed (尴尬的). "It's alright. I hear what people say, " she smiled. "You do have lots of decorations, "I said. "I think it's pretty, " she replied. "But people think it's… strange, "I said. "They don't understand why I leave up my decorations, " answered she. 

Like most teenagers, I just asked the next question, "Why?"

"It was because of my son, Anthony, " said Mrs Wright. "Anthony planned to come home before Christmas. He called me on New Year's Eve, telling me to leave up the Christmas decorations. But three days later, Anthony died because there was something wrong with the plane. My boy never made it back home. Even though I know it doesn't change anything, I won't take down those decorations, even after all these years. " Mrs Wright wasn't a witch. She was a sad, lonely mother fighting with a terrible sadness. 

The doorbell rang and my mother arrived. Held by my mother, I went home. My hurt ankle healed (康 复 ) quickly. Since then, whenever I delivered newspapers to Mrs Wright, she smiled, saying how much she enjoyed my visit. I didn't think of her as the Christmas Witch any more. 

 It was the first time in China that a short-finned pilot whale (短鳍领航鲸), a nationally second-class protected wild animal, was rescued and released into its natural habitat, thanks to the efforts of more than 200 people who joined hands to save the stranded(搁浅) creature. 

 It all began on Jan & rd, when the injured whale was seen stranded on the shores of Haitang Bay in Sanya, Hainan Province. Police, animal experts, and volunteers rushed to the scene, and managed to send the whale to the Sanya Haichang Animal Center. They named it Haitang, after the Haitang Bay where it was found. 

 At first, due to serious lung (肺部) injuries, Haitang faced the risk of turning over and drowning(溺水). To solve this, over 100 volunteers took turns to hold the whale all day long so that it would not turn over. 

 As it slowly recovered, the volunteers moved it to an outdoor pool for a larger space. Months later, its length grew 10 centimeters, as it was fed 14 kilograms of seafood every day. 

 In early May. experts believed that Haitang was ready to return to Mother Nature. After spending some time with human being, it was released into the ocean where it belongs on May25th. Although it was hard to say goodbye, rescuers believed that Haitang had found its group and lived in the area healthily. 

In a small town, there lived a little girl named Lily. She loved exploring the world around her.

One sunny morning, when Lily's mom was preparing for 1 , she gave Lily a plate full of fresh fruits. "Good morning, Lily," her mom 2 her with a warm smile. "Today, let's talk about taking care of our 3 .""Is it important, Mom?" she asked. Her dad said, "Yes, because we only have one Earth. We need to keep it clean and 4 for both people and other living things on Earth."

Lily understood her parents' words. She decided to explore ways to 5 the Earth. She invited her friend, Emma, to join her. At the park, they saw 6 and started to clean it. They also met the park caretaker, Mr. Johnson. He taught them how to look after plants 7 . Lily and Emma learned a lot of skills from Mr. Johnson. They 8 him and then continued to do their work.
