Many people do not like to stay at home on holiday. They want to go on a trip to some exciting places. They want to see something different and do something exciting. So people from the country come to the city and people from the city go to the country for their holidays. During the holidays, trains, buses and planes are all very busy. It is very hard to buy train tickets. Many people take cars for a trip. Last week my family went to the country by car for our holidays. There was too much traffic on the road, so we had to drive very slowly. It took us about an hour to get out of the town. Then we came to a hill. It was green and beautiful. We thought this was a good place for a picnic, so we stopped and took the food, fruit and drinks out of the car. We sat down and began to eat. Suddenly a strong wind blew and soon it started to rain. We had to run back to our car and had our picnic in the car. Then we drove back home. What a bad trip!

It only grows in a few places on Earth. It's expensive. It looks like motor oil and tastes like burnt wood. Do you know what it is? Yes, it's coffee, and I love it.

So do more and more Chinese people, it seems. Luckin Coffee has shops across the country, and of course, Starbucks is everywhere. I once visited a Starbucks and found another Starbucks inside! People say coffee culture is taking over China, but I'm not sure.

 To me, coffee culture is about more than the drink. It is about the cafe. The best cafes are community(社区) spaces, where the baristas know your face and remember what you order. They are living rooms for people with small apartments, and study spaces for students. They have books, board games and local art on the walls. They may even host musicians.

 Compare this with Starbucks. Their chairs are uncomfortable and people forget your face. Starbucks doesn't have books, games or musicians. Instead, they sell CDs. It's the McDonald's of coffee.

 Are there good cafes in China? Yes! Great ones! I' ve visited many. If you like coffee, you should find one. If you don't like coffee, go anyway. They serve tea too. A cafe can only support a community if the community supports the cafe.

Most of us don't have to worry about our next meal because we know there is plenty of food available. But many people around the world are not that lucky. They live in hunger every day.

 According to a UN report in 2019, about 113 million people around the world suffered from acute(急性的) hunger in 2018. The number of people suffering from hunger stayed above 100 million from 2016 to 2018.

 Acute hunger is the most serious form of hunger— it refers to those who will die soon if they don't have food. Nearly two- thirds of people facing acute hunger come from just eight countries, including Ethiopia, Syria and Yemen, the report noted.

 One reason for this is war. Some 74 million people, or over half the number of people facing acute hunger, are living in war- torn countries.

 In addition, climate change and natural disasters(灾害) pushed another 29 million people into acute hunger in 2018, according to the report. This number includes people in southern Africa who faced droughts(干旱) that year.

UN World Food Program Executive Director David Beasley called for world leaders to" step up to the plate" in order to meet the UN's goal of being free from hunger. He called on them to solve the problems ▲.

 China has worked hard to solve world hunger. The country is working together with the UN to help other countries deal with serious hunger problems.
