Long, long ago there lived an old man. He had a very big orange tree in his garden. On the tree there were many fine{#blank#}1{#/blank#} .

    One day the old man found one of the oranges was bigger than the others. It was as big as a watermelon. So he took the biggest orange to the king. The king was very{#blank#}2{#/blank#} and gave the old man a lot of money for it.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}a rich man heard of this, he said to himself, "It is only an orange. Why did the king give him so much money? If I take my gold cup to the king, he will give me much more money for it. "

The next day when the king got the gold cup, he said to the rich man, "What a beautiful cup! l'll give you {#blank#}4{#/blank#} for it. Please take the great orange. "

Scott has an interesting job. He works at a radio {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(电台). He needn't get up early because he goes to work in the evening. It is about twenty {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (分钟) walk from his home to the workplace. He has many hobbies. He is not only good at {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(游泳) but also dances {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(好).

Moreover, he is always ready to help others. Molly, an eleven-year-old girl, is one of his fans. She lives in a small {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(村庄). There is a very big river {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (介于……之间) her school and her home. Every school day, she {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (横过) the river to school. It is hard and takes a lot of time. She has a dream that one day there will be a {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(桥) over the river so that the people there can go out easily. Scott feels sorry to hear that and now he is helping Molly to raise money to make her dream come {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(实现). He hopes she can live happily.

My parents usually work hard. My father also {#blank#}1{#/blank#}me to be good at every subject. We spend a few days going to different places together every year to relax {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

Last year, we decided to go to a beach, so we used the Internet to get some information about some places close to the sea. Finally, we {#blank#}3{#/blank#}Qingdao City and had a lot of fun there. We visited Qingdao Polar Ocean World. When we walked through it, we saw some beautiful penguins (企鹅). They were black and white. They were much {#blank#}4{#/blank#}than other penguins. I thought they were the most popular ones among all the animals there.

What a(n) {#blank#}5{#/blank#} trip it was! Now I can still remember that trip so clearly that I will never forget it.

Till now I can't forget that day. It was a cold snowy morning after the winter {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (假期). I got up early and went to a new school. It is the most famous one {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (在……之中) middle schools in New York. I was walking alone slowly and worried about lots of things because it was the first time for me to stay {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (在国外). It was early and there were no other people on the road, so it was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (寂静) outside. 

Suddenly a girl on her bike got into trouble. She fell off the bike and tried hard to get up but she {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(未能达到) Without thinking, I went over and helped her. She said "thank you" with a smile and then rode away. Her words warmed me a lot. 

Finally, I got to school. The teacher introduced me to the {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(整个；全部) class Then he asked me to sit beside a girl. I felt so nervous that I didn't look at her. Soon the bell {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (响铃) for the firs class. Their textbooks were different from those at my old school. While I was {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(考虑;斟酌) asking the teacher for help, an English book appeared in front of me. "Let's share. " To my surprise, it was the girl I helped that morning. Later on, we became good friends. 

From that I learnt: To help others is actually to help {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(我们自己). Life teaches us not only {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (知识) but also experience. I hope I will always help others in my life. 

Last weekend, the four members of my family spent an excellent holiday at the Disneyland. And one thing made our visit seem 1 . 

We got to the front of the line at Space Mountain, only to find out that our little daughter Gloria couldn't take her 2 on the ride. It was our first time to be there, so we were too 3 to remember that ice cream was not allowed on the ride. 

Gloria started 4 and we all didn't know what to do. Then Tony, one of the staff(员工) members, came over. He bent down and told Gloria that he would 5 the ice cream for her and give it back to her when she finished the ride. Gloria said, " Really?" Then she gave Tony her ice cream, and enjoyed 6 on the ride.

When my children were young, I used to read to them every evening before bed. One of their favorite stories was called Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch. Mr. Hatch lived a 1 life. He walked alone to work every day and ate his lunch alone in a corner. He never 2 . He never talked to anyone on his way home. In the evening, he never visited friends and he would read a newspaper and go to bed3 .

His life changed, however, on Valentine's Day when he got a heart- shaped box full of 4 in the mail, along with a note that said, " Somebody loves you. Hope you like the chocolate. " At  first, he couldn't believe it, but when he let the message understood, he began to laugh and dance  around. That message opened his heart to the power of love. Soon he found himself being cheerful. He became a joy at work and began to 5  people in the neighborhood. As the days and weeks went by, his laughter, smiles, kindness, happiness and love6 everyone in his community. 

 Later, Mr. Hatch found out that the heart- shaped box had been delivered to him by7 . He felt8 and went back to his old ways. When his neighbors found out, however, they decided not to lose the light he shared. They 9 him with a party and a huge banner(条幅) that read: " Everybody Loves Mr. Hatch. " Mr. Hatch cried when he realized that somebody loved him after all. Then he laughed, smiled and hugged with his friends.
