Today I went on a school trip. We {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (visit) the science museum. It was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (real) interesting. We got there so fast {#blank#}3{#/blank#}train. We saw some farms and villages along the way. At the museum, l learnt a lot about robots. I didn't know they could play chess with{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (we). It {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (be) so cool! The guide was very {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (friend). She taught me how {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (make) a model robot. I took a lot of great {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (photo) too. After that, I went to {#blank#}9{#/blank#}gift shop and bought some lovely gifts for my parents. They weren't expensive. {#blank#}10{#/blank#}an exciting day it was! 

When I was a young teacher, my first teaching job was in a village in the far north of Canada. There were no roads. You had to take a 1  to fly into the village. I was quite 2 about this new job. I couldn't sleep well. But I packed( 打包) my bags and headed north for my adventure.

In autumn, when I 3 there, the weather was fine. The 4 shone and the days were clear. But all of that was soon to change. In late October, the season changed suddenly. One morning, I awoke and it was winter. In winter, it is very 5 in Canada's north. It snows a lot, too. One winter day, it started to snow really, really6 . The wind blew. And the snow did not stop. It snowed for a whole day. It snowed all night, too.

On the morning of the third day, the snow finally stopped coming down. I7 and looked out of my window. The students looked out of their windows too. They could not see their school."Our school has disappeared( 消失)." they cried. All they could see was a world8 white snow everywhere. The snow covered the school completely. It was more than 8 metres high. It was amazing! But not everyone was surprised. "It happens every year," said the school principal(校长)，"This is Canada. This is how we get to school in the far north."

Of course, there was no school that day. The people in the village came and helped the guard dig out the snow. It9 three days to uncover the school! The kids enjoyed their days off. But they were glad to get back to10 finally.

Aron Ralston is an American man who is interested in mountain climbing. As a mountain climber, Aron is used to taking risks. This is one of the exciting things about doing dangerous sports. There were many times when Aron almost lost his life because of accidents. On April 26, 2003, he found himself in a very dangerous situation when climbing in Utah.

On that day, Aron's arm was caught under a 360-kilo rock that fell on him when he was climbing by himself in the mountains. Because he could not free his arm, he stayed there for five days and hoped that someone would find him. 59.但当他的水喝光之后，他知道他必须做点什么来挽救自己的生命。 He was not ready to die that day. So he used his knife to cut off half his right arm. Then, with his left arm, he bandaged himself so that he would not lose too much blood. After that, he climbed down the mountain to find help.

After losing his arm, he wrote a book called Between a Rock and a Hard Place.This means being in a difficult situation that you cannot seem to get out of. 60.In this book, Aron tells of the importance of making good decisions, and of being in control of one's life. His love for mountain climbing is so great that he kept on climbing mountains even after this experience.

Do we have the same spirit as Aron? Let's think about it before we find ourselves "between a rock and a hard place", and before we have to make a decision that could mean life or death.

What a difference a day makes！My father and I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to go to Penang Hill today. We wanted to walk up to the top, but then it started raining a little so we decided to take the train. We waited over an hour {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the train because there were too many people. When we got to the top, it was rainingreally {#blank#}3{#/blank#} . We didn't have an umbrella {#blank#}4{#/blank#} we were wet and cold. It was terrible！And because of the bad weather, we couldn't see {#blank#}5{#/blank#} below. My father didn't bring {#blank#}6{#/blank#} money, so we only had one bowl of rice and some fish. The food tasted great because I was so hungry！

Not long ago, I decided to read a lot of books to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（增长） my knowledge. So I went to the library and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（返回） with several books. But after a few days, I felt I was not {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（耐心） enough. It was impossible for me to calm down to read a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（整个） book. I didn't know how to deal with this problem. Then suddenly one day, I had an idea: why not make reading fun?

From then on, I knew what I {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （确切） needed, so I started reading books widely. I read different kinds of books, like storybooks, science books, {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（小说） and so on. And I also made a list of books I read every month. When I read books, I tried to understand the writers' {#blank#}7{#/blank#} （快乐） and sadness. And I also read books in different places. Sometimes I liked reading in the library. Sometimes I liked reading{#blank#}8{#/blank#} （在……旁边） a peaceful lake. After reading books, I made myself understood by expressing my ideas more {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（清楚）. Now I am more interested in reading. And books have become a part of my life. Books are great wealth for me.

Books are like our friends. They are very {#blank#}10{#/blank#} （帮助） to us. We can learn a lot from the books we read. They can also give us a lot. So start reading now, or one day you will regret not having read enough books.

Last summer, I went hiking along the riverside with my mother and some friends. The river was not deep, but it was running fast. The rocks in the river were slippery(滑的). We walked carefully, but the freezing water still wet our shoes and trousers. I was getting very cold and tired. I wanted to give up, but when I saw other kids moving so fast, I felt sorry. This pushed me to keep following them, even though I was far behind. It was even more difficult during the last part of the walk. I became so tired out that I missed my steps and fell several times. But with the help of my mother and my friends, I got to my feet and kept going each time I fell.

At last, we arrived at our place by a lake. Everybody jumped into the pool. When it was my turn, I was very afraid and tried to hide around a corner. My friends noticed this and said to me, "Come on, Kevin! You can do this!" With my eyes closed, I jumped into the pool.

Although I am not as strong as my friends, I completed our walk. This experience made me realise what perseverance is, and how important it will be to everyone in life! If I exercise hard every day, I can become strong like my friends.
