It is difficult for the parents of every family to teach their children to be responsible (有责任的) for housework.

    The Shatian School in Shanghai is making its students do housework for their parents. The third graders(三年级学生) must learn how to cook and clean, sixth graders do the laundry(洗衣服) and seventh and eighth graders cook balanced meals with 15 yuan.

    Many parents think it's a good way for children to try housework but they don't know how to do it at home. With the following ideas, you really can get your children to help at home.

    If you want to make your children think that they can do everything quite right, please don't always scold(批评) if them but give them lots of praise at home. Talk more about what they did right, not about what they didn't do. If your child finishes some difficult work, give him or her a Sunday trip or a ball game with Dad as a reward.

 Between June 3 and 4, 2024, the Chang'e 6 lunar probe(月球探测器) showed our national flag on the moon. This is the first flag of any country to fly there!

 The flag uses very cool technology (技术). It is made of Xuanwu rock. You can often see this kind of rock on Earth. People often make the rock into floors and roads. The rock for making the flag comes from Hebei. Scientists first crushed (碾碎) the rock. Then, they made it into very thin threads (线), even thinner than your hair! Finally, they put these threads together to make a flag about the size of a piece of A4 paper.

Although the flag is made of rock, it is not heavy. It's just a little heavier than four ping- pong balls. The flag could stay there for over 10,000 years, said Zhou Changyi, one of the scientists who made the flag.

P: Did you always want to be a firefighter?

L: No, I didn't. My father and my uncle are both firefighters, so it's a job I have known quite a lot. When I was just a kid, I always wanted to be one of them, but when I was 16, I stopped thinking about it.

P: What did you do before you became a firefighter?

L: Before that, I was a sports teacher.

P: How did you get interested in firefighting again?

L: One day, I took my students on a trip to the fire station. I did interesting things there and I knew I had to try and do this job.

P: What do you like about the job?

L: I love helping others who are in trouble. As a firefighter, my job has brought hope to others. It makes my job meaningful.

P: Are there many women at your fire station?

L: No, I'm the only one, but I don't mind. I think more women will become firefighters. Men are strong and brave. Women are as strong and brave as them.

P: What's the best thing about the job?

L: The best thing is knowing that I am saving lives. I am proud of my job.
