Do you have true friends? Do you want to know better between you and your friends? There are three different kinds of friends: "pest friends", "guest friends", and "best friends".

The first kind of friends is simply acquaintances (熟人), and all you usually know about them is their names. You may meet this kind of friends at school, at work, or on the bus, but you don't miss them when they're not around. When this kind of friends do something bad, you don't tell them. That is why they are called "pest friends".

The second kind of friends could also be called "social partners". They are closer than acquaintances, but not as close as true friends. You know their names, a little about what they like or dislike, and a little about their family histories; you usually have a few things in common, but you don't talk about anything deep, such as your wishes or fears, and they don't open up to you how they really feel.

The last kind of friends, the "best friends", are the people you know the deepest.

You're like family, and know everything about each other. You have no problem staying at each other's houses, and you share your deepest feelings and thoughts. They will correct you when you're wrong, and though they may not be perfect, they at least will always care about you, and never do anything on purpose (故意地) to hurt you.

We all have our pest, guest, and best friends. We should value (重视) all friendship. Remember, all best friends start out as just acquaintances.

Teachers often find it challenging to collect homework from students before class, and sometimes they even become upset about it. To solve this problem, a 13-year-old middle school student whose family name is Zhang from Shenzhen created a smart robot, which won first prize in the 20th Guangdong Provincial Children's Invention Awards.

This amazing robot can quickly and efficiently (高效地) collect homework from students without any mistake. It uses advanced radio frequency identification (RFID, 无线射频识别) technology to read special tags (标签) on each student's notebook. Each student's notebook has a special RFID tag with their names and subject information. When students place their notebooks on the robot, it "reads" the tag and adds it to the correct list.

Not only does the robot help teachers collect homework, but it also allows them to check who has and hasn't handed in their homework by receiving messages from the robot over Wi-Fi. This invention has got the high praise from many teachers, who believe that Zhang's creativity and talent will lead to even more useful AI tools in the future.

Due to his success, Zhang expects to become a scientist when he grows up. "I enjoy doing scientific and creative projects like making model airplanes in my spare time. Inventing gives me a sense of joy and achievement," he said.

With his love for science and innovation (创新), Zhang is well on his way to making the world better through his inventions. His story serves as an inspiration (激励) for other young people to go after their dreams and make a difference in their daily life.

St. Petersburg, Russia(圣彼得堡, 俄罗斯)

 Cats not only live an enjoyable life in the city, but they are also an important part of the city culture. The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg has one of the longest histories of looking after cats. The museum was once a palace(宫殿). It has had cats since the 18th century to catch mice. The museum now has about 50 cats, and even celebrates a special day for them every year.

Istanbul, Turkey(伊斯坦布尔, 土耳其)

 If you are a cat fan, Istanbul is the place for you. Cats in the city are famous for their great number and human- friendly nature(性格). You can see cats everywhere while walking along the streets. On every street corner or in front of buildings, there are cat food and water bowls for them. And as people feed them so often, many of the cats are close to people. A movie called Kedi tells the true story of cats living in Istanbul.

Lake Baikal (贝加尔湖)  is the largest,  deepest freshwater lake in the world.Every winter when the lake freezes over (冻结)  for half the year, 80 -year- old Lyubov skates across the ice wherever she needs to go.

Lyubov has been using the ice to travel around her home for her whole life.As a child, she skated about 2.5 miles each way to school and back.She once fell through the ice and was luckily saved by her classmates.

Lyubov lives alone now in a small house on the bank of Lake Baikal.Her children and five grandchildren don't often visit her because they live five hours away by car.She has to look on a group of dogs, cows and chickens as her friends.Luckily, she has the ice to help her feel free！"For me, ice means being able to go everywhere," the grandmother said.

Every day, she skates half an hour to other villages to do her shopping.With temperatures often reaching -40 ℃  , it' s hard for an old woman to live a normal life.But Lyubov says that her everyday skating enables her to live a long and energetic life. " People keep telling me 1 should slow down, but I just can't , " she said with a smile." I don't have time to be bored; there' s too much work to do."

Now kids are so clever, and they always have their own(自己的) ideas. A group of seventh graders open a museum by themselves. It's at their school, West Middle School, in the US. This is not common(常见的) for them. Few students can open a museum!

 Why do they have the idea? These students visited a museum last December. They loved it very much, so they wanted to open a museum by themselves. These students studied the things in the museum for a month. Then, they made some models of them like pyramids(金字塔) and bowls. 

They opened the museum last month. Dawna Badie is a 12-year-old boy. He stood at the door and welcomed visitors. "We study hard and work a lot on the project (项目)," Badie says. "And it works well." Children like to work in the museum very much. After school and every weekend, they go there. 

Both teachers and parents think they do a good job. "That's much better than sitting in the classroom and taking a test," says Emily Thompson. "The project makes them become better learners." Emily Thompson is a teacher of a middle school. She thinks the idea of the children is so wonderful.

Everyone feels low or down from time to time. It does not always mean something is wrong. Feeling low is common after painful events or huge life changes. But sometimes periods of low spirits happen for no clear reasons. 

____ , you may feel tired, disappointed, angry, worried and have no confidence. It will often pass after a couple of days or weeks. You can try some easy things and make some small everyday changes. They will usually help improve your spirit. 

If you're still feeling down or no longer get pleasure from things for most of each day. And this lasts for several weeks, you may be experiencing depression (抑郁) . You need to deal with it. You can do as the following tips. 

Firstly, talk to someone. Your trusted friends, family members and teachers will be OK. Or you can just call a helpline. Secondly, read a book or watch a favorite television show. Having different experiences through others can make you feel happier. The experiences may from both reading and watching well-known characters on a favorite TV show. What's more, do some sports you like. There are many different types of exercise. They can improve your heart speed. They can make you feel good and, make you keep away from the bad spirit. At last, tidy your room. You can either put messy things away or make everything in order. And you can just clean the room. All these things will make you feel happy and relieve the low spirit.

Low spirit, even depression, is very normal. The key is that we should dare to face it, choose the proper way to solve it. Everything will be fine in the future.
