Scanning QR codes makes life easier or harder?
Today, QR codes(二维码) are everywhere in our lives. However, scanning(扫描)them a lot might sometimes feel like a burden(负担). Is scanning QR codes for everything really convenient? What do you think?
Some people think using QR codes is convenient for us. We can scan a QR code to get on the bus without using cash. When you're at a store, you just need to show the QR code on your phone. Then you have paid for your toys or snacks. You don't need to worry about getting the numbers wrong. Also QR codes help us get lots of information, and it's all fast and right. For example, in the zoo, there are QR codes everywhere. Scan them and you can learn all kinds of amazing facts about animals, like having a personal tour guide right on your phone.
But Some people think scanning QR codes feels like a burden now in our everyday lives.
First, it takes more time. Back in the day, ordering food at a restaurant was simple-just talk to the waiter! Now, you might need to take out your phone and scare a QR code to follow a restaurant or an official account(公众号). If there's no Internet, you can't even do that. Also when you scan some QR codes, there might be pop-up(弹出) ads. They may take you to some other pages. Or you need to share more of your information. Later, you may get calls and junk(垃圾)messages.
It can be really embarrassing if someone sees you talking to yourself. But don't feel bad about it! {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
You probably know that thinking is good for the brain. It helps us do things like making plans and managing our feelings. Speaking out loud is like showing this quiet speech. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}
When you talk to and encourage yourself,you will be more self﹣confident. A study invited 72 tennis players to take part in some matches. Researchers put them into two groups. One group said nothing while playing. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} They found that the self﹣talkers showed more confidence and performed better than those in the silent group.
{#blank#}4{#/blank#}"When people talk to themselves in the third person,the way they think is more similar to how they think about others,"said Jason Moser,a professor from Michigan State University,US. This can help us see things from a different point of view,especially when we're feeling sad or angry.
Self﹣talk also helps improve memory. Researchers tested four different ways to memorize things:reading silently,reading aloud,listening to someone else read and listening to a recording of oneself reading. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} It's because the information is likely to become a long﹣term memory if said out loud.
A. The other talked to themselves while playing. B. Talking to yourself is actually helpful in many ways. C. As a result,it can help us do better in different areas too. D. Talking to yourself can also help you manage bad feelings. E. If you can't talk to yourself,you can write a note to yourself. F. It turned out that those who read aloud recalled the information the best. |
Most children like to watch cartoons on TV because of the funny characters and the bright colors. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}
Some people think it leaves nothing for children to imagine when they watch cartoons on TV. They can see the different characters, so they need not imagine the appearance of a character or any situation in the cartoon. But when reading a book, the child has to imagine what the different characters look like. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} So the imaginative power of the child improves.
Almost every child is able to read books. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Watching cartoons will improve their language ability. As most of the cartoons are in English, watching them will improve their English. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} In this way, their vocabulary will get improved. They will learn how to pronounce different words. Their spoken English will also get greatly improved. These are the advantages (好 处) of watching cartoons.
But there should be a limit (限制) to everything. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} However, they cannot keep children from watching TV completely. It will only do more harm than good.
A. Parents should control their children's time on TV. B. He has to imagine a place or a situation described in the story he is reading. C. However, it will be happier for them to watch TV, especially cartoons. D. They will learn to understand the conversations. E. But is it good for children to watch cartoons on TV? |
