This is a story about a storm in Moscow. It happened several years ago. It was my first time that I had seen such a 1 storm.

It was a sunny day in July, and I was at home watching TV. The window was open 2 the weather was so hot. Suddenly, I felt a strong wind from outside. I looked out of the window and saw a black sky and trees 3 over because of the strong wind. I tried to 4 the window, but the wind made me fall down. I was afraid that the glass might break. I stood up and tried to close the window again. 5 , I made it.

Then I looked outside. I found that the big tree in front of my house was going to fall to the ground and its 6 had broken off. There was frequent（频繁的）thunder and lightning. I started to 7 all the appliances as quickly as possible.

After a while, the wind stopped, but it began to hail （下冰雹）. After about ten minutes, everything stopped, and the Sun came out again. How 8 the weather was! A few minutes later, the phone began to ring. It was my friend. We asked each other how it was and how we felt after the storm.

In the streets, many trees died because of the 9 . For a few days, people helped clean parks and gardens. Some people's cars were damaged by trees' falling branches on them. The 10 tells me that in the face of natural disasters, human beings are insignificant（微不足道的）. We can't stop them, but we must protect ourselves from them.

Last summer, my parents and I were planning to travel. We finally {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (choose) Shanghai. Shanghai is a large, crowed and modern city but it also has lots {#blank#}2{#/blank#} historical places. 

We comfortably stayed there for two days. On the first day, we went to Nanjing Road. There were many shopping malls and people, so we had to speak {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(loud) to make our voice be heard. We also bought several {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(ticket) to visit some places of interest. In the morning, we took {#blank#}5{#/blank#} walk along the Huangpu River. After {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(visit) the Bund in the evening, we went to the Oriental Pearl Tower. It is a famous place in Pudong and one of the world's {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (tall) TV towers. 

On the second day, we visited Xintiandi. We saw many modern shops and restaurants in traditional shikumen-style houses. The scenery(风景) was really amazing, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} we went back early. Because it was hotter than {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(I) hometown. 

The trip to Shanghai {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(leave) an unforgettable memory on me. I liked both the new and the old Shanghai. Two days was a bit short. I hope I can go to Shanghai again some time in the future. 

"Boys and girls，are you ready for the test？" Our teacher Ms. Kelly asks. 

"Yeah!" We answer happily. A test is 1 to us. 

I answer quickly until I read the last one， "Do you know the 2 in our school？What is her first name？" 

Of course，I 3 the cleaner. She is thin and wears an orange jacket every day. We always see her clean the restroom （厕所），4 how can I know her name？I 5 talk to her. 

After class，I give my paper to Ms. Kelly，leaving the 6 question empty （空白的）. I feel sad because I never （从不） say hi to her. 

On my way to the restroom，I see her 7 jacket. I run to her.

In our life，we meet many people. All are 9 and all you do is to smile and say hello. I can never forget this 10 . I will never forget her name-Dora. 

One day Suzie McCash went shopping with her mum in Tynemouth, England. Suzie was four years old. Her mum didn't feel very well at the shops, so they went home.

In the house, Suzie's mum went to lie on the sofa. She was there for a long time. Her eyes were shut and it wasn't easy for her to breathe(呼吸). Suzie was worried. Was her mum really ill? Suzie went to the house next door, but the neighbors(邻居) weren't there. So she phoned 999 — the emergency telephone number for the police.

The police officer was very kind and Suzie was calm.

OFFICER: ‘What's your mummy doing now?'

SUZIE: ‘Um, she's just lying on the sofa and she's doing nothing.'

OFFICER: ‘Are her eyes open?'

SUZIE: ‘No, they're shut.'

And later…

OFFICER: ‘Can you open the door? Can you be a big girl?'

Soon the police were at their house and some doctors were there, too. About an hour later, Suzie's mum was OK again. A doctor said, "Her mummy was very sick. Without Suzie's phone call, her mummy might be dead(去世的) now!"

Suzie's story was in the newspapers and people were surprised and happy about it. She was a very brave girl and, a year later, she was in the news again because she was named a Child of Courage at the Pride of Britain Awards(奖) for helping her mother.
