When Bruce first met Beethoven's Moonlight over 50 years ago, he lost himself in it at once and dreamed of becoming a pianist. Although a piano was absent at home then, he learned to play Beethoven (贝多芬) by ear. Unbelievably, Bruce entered the Royal Academy of Arts at 16, which marked the beginning of his successful pianist journey. But that's not all. . . 

Bruce's wife works at Elephants World, a reserve (自然保护区) devoted to the care of rescued (救援) elephants. These elephants have worked for humans all their life and many are blind or disabled from being treated badly. After learning about that, Bruce wanted to make the effort to carry something heavy himself. Finally, Bruce and his wife were allowed by the manager to bring a piano into the reserve, bringing music to the elephants' lives. It was truly magical. 

At the beginning, when Bruce started playing, it was hard to hear the piano above the sounds of nature and the elephants chewing (咀嚼) grass. However, everything changed when a blind elephant stopped eating and focused on his playing. It hit Bruce that this elephant had a love for music. From that moment on, Bruce was no longer worried about influencing their pеace. 

Now Bruce continues to play for these elephants in the reserve. Surprisingly, it's the sad male elephants who show the most fascination with the music. He believes it has a calming effect. These elephants' breathing actually slows down when he plays, which tells Bruce they are relaxed and happy. He has even seen elephants seemingly dancing to Beethoven's pieces. With their excellent hearing and the ability to sense vibrations (震动) through their feet, Bruce is confident that elephants can understand the language of human expression. 

Bruce jokes that he is now an "Elepianist" and his human audience (听众) must miss him too much! 

 It's 2: 30 in the afternoon. The house is quiet(安静的)." Tom?" Mom says. No one answers.

 Mom comes to Tom's room. He is not on the bed, but his model plane is on the desk." He is not in his room, and he is not in the yard, " Mom thinks. Then Mom comes to his grandparents' room. Tom likes to play with his grandpa's tape player, but he is not there.

 Mom looks for Tom everywhere. Where is Tom? Mom is worried. She wants to call Dad. She comes to the living room to get the phone.

" What's that? " Mom sees something black under the sofa. Oh, it's Eric, Tom's dog. It loves sleeping there. What is next to Eric? It's Tom!

 Dana loves to read." If you' re reading, you can be in your world and do almost anything you want," she says.

 The Harry Potter books are her favorite. To Dana, all books have their own magic(魔力). She joined a book club at her school. One holiday, she did some research(调查) about books with her classmates. She learned that in richer places, each family had about 10 books. However, in poor places, there might be only one book for every 300 kids. Some kids never visited a library. She decided to change this.

 At the age of thirteen, Dana started a club called Reading Heart to share her love of reading. People donated(捐赠) books to her club. Then Dana and her friends gave them out to kids in schools, hospitals in poor places. In four years, they gave away nearly 400,000 books!

 After kids chose their books, they could keep the books. But when they finished reading, they shared them with a friend.

 Dana thinks that sharing books is like building small libraries for each kid. She enjoys helping others find the magic of reading.

Cui Chenxi is a student in a middle school. When he was preparing lessons before class, he noticed a mistake. In one of the pictures, there is a"hoverfly(食蚜蝇)", and there is a word under {#blank#}1{#/blank#} picture to describe it. But the word is"bee" . 

Cui reported the mistake to the textbook's publisher(出版商)and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(quick)got a reply. The publisher confirmed(确认)the mistake after {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (ask)a biology teacher. They said they would correct the mistake. Besides, the publisher thanked the 12-year-old boy for reporting the mistake, and praised {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (he)for being "really professional" . 

When asked how he {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(discover)the mistake, Cui said, "It's simple. Bees have two pairs of {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (wing)while hoverflies have only one pair. What's more, bees' tentacles(触须)are clear to see while those of hoverflies are difficult to see. "

According to Cui's mother, the boy shows a great interest {#blank#}7{#/blank#}biology. He raised 10 types of ants in his school in order to find the insects' habits and understand how the insects work. 

To our surprise, hundreds of books about natural science {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(keep)in his family. And Cui has a bookshelf of his own. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} Cui needs to do lots of sports and join in after-class activities, he still spends more than one hour reading natural science books everyday. He is {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (please)to learn what he loves.
