There is an English saying:" Laughter is the best medicine." Until {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, few people took the saying seriously. Now however, doctors have begun to look into laughter and the effects it has on the human body. They find that it {#blank#}2{#/blank#} people's blood pressure, the heart beating and breathing. It {#blank#}3{#/blank#} works the stomach and even the feet. So laughter exercises the body and improves people's health.

As a result of these discoveries, some doctors in the United States now hold laughter clinics; in which they help to improve their patients' condition {#blank#}4{#/blank#} encouraging them to laugh. They have found that even if their patients do not really feel like {#blank#}5{#/blank#}, making them smile is enough to produce beneficial effects similar to those caused by laughter.

I still remembered the first day I met Jane. When she walked into the classroom， all the students were very {#blank#}1{#/blank#} because there was a big red birthmark（胎记）on her face. Jane didn't know at all even though some bad boys played jokes on her and laughed at her. Instead， she was always {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

I {#blank#}3{#/blank#}why Jane could always be so happy. So one day， I went to her and asked if she knew there was a red birthmark on her face. She replied that of course she knew. Whenever she looked in the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}，she could see it. 

"Then how can you live happily all the time？ Don't you think the mark makes you {#blank#}5{#/blank#}？"  I asked. 

"No， actually， the mark makes me special. I always tell {#blank#}6{#/blank#} that I have no way to decide what I look like， {#blank#}7{#/blank#}I can decide what I want to be. I'm much luckier than those that can't walk or run. At least I'm a healthy 

{#blank#}8{#/blank#}. "Jane answered with a smile. Jane's words opened a new world for me. At that moment， I understood the world {#blank#}9{#/blank#} than before. If the world is looked from a bright way， some bad things will be good {#blank#}10{#/blank#}.

When people talk about Disney cartoon characters, they often think of Donald Duck(唐老鸭). Donald Duck is a white duck with a yellow-orange mouth. He usually wears a sailor shirt, a cap and a red or black bow tic(蝶形领结), but no trousers at all. 

Donald Duck was born on 9 June, 1934. He is the oldest duck in the world. He is very funny. He makes a lot of people laugh again and again. Children around the world all like him. 

Domald Duck first appears in the cartoon The Wise Litle Hen. The little hen works very hard. But Donald Duck and his friend Peter Pig do not want to work. Then the little hen gives them a lesson. She tells them that work is important. 

Donald Duck is like a common man in a big world. He is kind-hearted. He wants to help others. But things always go wrong. He doesn't like it. He gets angry easily. Then his girlfriend Daisy comes to help him. So he tries it again. He thinks there must be a better way to do things. But he does not know another way. 

For most people, graduation(毕业) is an exciting day. But my graduation day was not.

I remember that weekend two years ago. Family and friends had1 from across the country to watch our class walk across that stage. We had degrees, but very few job chances because of the 2 economy (经济). I knew that the next day I  3 school, I would no longer have a place to call home.

I knew my small university town couldn't offer me any opportunities, so I drove to southern California to find 4 . I thought it would take a week to find one, but it 5 for two weeks, and then four weeks, and I found myself in the 6 spot(点) I was in before. 

You know that feeling when you wake up and you are full of fear? Fear about something you can't 7 . You hope that everything that has happened to you so far is just a bad 8 . 

So what did I do to stay 9 ? I wrote. Something about putting words on a page made everything seem a little clearer — a little brighter. Something about writing gave me 10 . If you want something enough, sometimes a little hope is all you need!

I turned my 11  feelings into a children's book—about a surprising hero who simply refused to 12 on his dream.

Then one day, without a writing degree or experience in the writing world, 13 a lot of hard work —I was offered a publishing (出版) deal for my first book! After that, things started to get 14 . I was 15 a second book deal. Then, a few months later, I got an interview with a big company and got a good job. 

It takes time, but just hold on — change can happen when you least expect it.
