It is yard sale time again. Everyone in Jones' family {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(clear) out their old things and set up a table out in front of their house already.

Billy, the youngest child, puts some crayons and board {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(game)in his yard sale box. Suzy, Billy's sister, decides {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(part) with a couple of her soft toys. Nowadays she just doesn't love them as much as she used to. Regina, the eldest child in the family, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(own) music CDs and some magazines for two months. She gets tired of things fast, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} she wants to sell all of them for new ones. Dad takes {#blank#}6{#/blank#} some old tools and computer parts. Mom's old handbags and shoes are everywhere. She {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(have) them for more than five years, but she doesn't need them anymore.

Together, the 5 of them set up their tables at 7:30 in the morning. From 7:30a. m. to 9:30 a. m., they have little time 

{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(take) a break. Many people take young kids, so Billy sells out his things {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(quick). A few girls buy most of Suzy's toys and Regina's CDs.

The Jones make $ 323 in the end. It is quite {#blank#}10{#/blank#} good day. Everyone is happy about the results even if a few things haven't been sold.

Look at the boy in the picture. His name is Han Haolin. His English name is Finn. He is from Ningbo, China. Four people are in his family. They are his father, his mother, his sister and him. The English name of his sister is Fila. She is two years older than him. He likes his family very much.

His birthday is on September 28th. He is only ten years old. But he is a star now. He can act(表演) very well. He played Dongdong in the film My People, My Country in 2022. Everyone likes his performance (表演) very much. He loves music, too. He is good at singing and dancing. In his free time, he sings and dances on TV. He also plays the guitar when he is free. He is also very kind. He always helps people.

Nearly everybody loves oranges. They are sweet and juicy and it is easy to eat them. Some people also like their colour. 

The orange tree is beautiful. It has a lot of shiny(闪亮的) green leaves. Its small white flowers smell very sweet. An orange tree has flowers and fruit at the same time. 

Farmers in other parts of Asia and the Middle East(中东) learned to plant orange trees from Chinese. Then they taught Europeans how to plant orange trees. Later, Europeans took oranges to America. 

In English, "orange" means both a fruit and a colour. We use the name of the fruit for the colour. 

How do you feel when you have to make a speech in front of class? What about when you go to a birthday party? Do you get really shy?

Shyness means feeling worried or afraid when you're around other people. Experts (专家) have found that more than 80 percent of middle school students feel afraid to be the center of attention (注意). Some kids are born shy. Some become shy later because of their life experiences (经历).

It's OK if it takes you a minute to feel yourself again when you go to a new place or meet new people. In fact, everybody gets a little shy sometimes. It's just a problem of how much.

Most people have red faces and talk in broken language when they get shy. But some become so shy that they won't go to a restaurant because they are too nervous to order and pay for their food. Some are afraid of meeting new people, so they hardly go outside. This kind of shyness can be bad for a person.

If shyness doesn't stop you from doing something you want to do, being shy isn't a very big problem. Some experts say shy people are cleverer because they think more and talk less. Shy people are also good at working with others because they think more for other people. Some great people in history were shy, too.

You see, being shy isn't all bad. But remember not to let good chances pass by just because of it! If you have to sing a song at a birthday party or practice your spoken English in front of others, just do it! There's nothing to be afraid of.
