I'm Mrs Green. This summer holiday, I went to London with my husband and our son Sam. We first spent four days visiting some famous places, such as the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. On the fifth day, I was a bit tired and just wanted to stay at the hotel. But Sam didn't want to. He would like to visit the HMS Belfast, a famous warship(战舰)that joined the Second World War(战争). It is on the River Thames as a museum for people to visit now. It is very famous and Sam read about it in a magazine. Well, boys always love these things, so I promised to go with him. 

We took the underground and it took us about twenty minutes to get to the River Thames from our hotel. After walking another ten minutes we finally saw the HMS Belfast. An adult ticket was £ 24. 5 and my husband bought two. Sam was only 13 years old, so his ticket was half price. The HMS Belfast was really large. Sam was interested in everything on it and took lots of photos. He said it was his favourite place on his trip to London. 

Chinese culture has become more and more popular now. "More Lebanese students have shown interest in{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(learn) the Chinese language. And they also want to study China's culture," said{#blank#}2{#/blank#} director of the Confucius Institute.

Lebanese parents expect {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(they) children to learn Chinese language. It is good for making friends and finding a job in the future,{#blank#}4{#/blank#} China is super in economy and wins a lot of attention from other countries.

During the celebration of the 15th anniversary, students showed their great interest in Chinese culture. They gave {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(speech) in Chinese and performed Chinese calligraphy(书法) actively.

"So far, students at the Confucius Institute{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(reach) over 1,000," Lattouf said. "They will offer a new one-year program in Chinese culture and translation in September, mainly covering Chinese-Arabic translation." Lattouf added {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(proud).

"The Chinese embassy(大使馆) in Lebanon shows great support and promises {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(find) training centers for students," the Confucius Institute's director said. "We hope that more Lebanese friends, especially the young people can experience one of {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(great) cultures in the world. We hope it can develop traditional friendship {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the two countries and deepen people-to-people exchanges."

More and more people in the world will fall in love with Chinese culture in the future!

We can make mistakes at any age. And most mistakes are about people. "Did Jerry really care when I broke my leg?" "When I got that great job, did Jim really feel good about it, as a friend? Or did he envy(嫉妒) my luck?" When we look back, doubts like these can make us feel bad. But when we look back, it's too late.

 ①  Why do we go wrong about our friends or our enemies? Sometimes what people say hides their real meaning. ②   Suppose(假设) someone tells you, "You're a lucky dog." That's being friendly.   ③   But "lucky dog"? There's a bit of envy in those words. Maybe he doesn't see it himself. But bringing in the "dog" puts you down a little. What he may be saying is that he doesn't think you deserve your luck.   ④  

"Just think of all the things you should be thankful for" is another noise that says one thing and means another. It could mean that the speaker is trying to get you to see your problem as part of your life as a whole. But is he? The thought in this phrase is that your problem isn't important. It's telling you to think of all the starving(挨饿的) people in the world when you haven't got the new bike you want.

How can you tell the real meaning behind someone's words? One way is to take a good look at the person talking. Do his words fit the way he looks? Does what he says agree with the tone of voice? His posture? The look in his eyes? Stop and think, The minute you spend thinking about the real meaning of what people say to you may save another mistake.

F. Shanxi is the province with the largest number of ancient architectural(建筑的) site s in the country. It is known as the" Ancient Chinese Architecture Museum of Art". The most attractive buildings in its capital city Taiyuan are the Jinci Temple and Twin Pagoda Temple.

 There are several Chinese sayings that are similar to" how time flies". Ancient Chinese compared time to many things.

 One of {#blank#}1{#/blank#} ( popular) sayings is probably"光阴似箭, 日月如梭( Time flies by like an arrow; Days and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ( month) flash by as fast as a weaver's shuttle.)" It is easy {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( understand) the" arrow" part. All of us know {#blank#}4{#/blank#} fast arrows are. What about a weaver's shuttle?

In ancient times, many Chinese people made a living by growing crops (庄稼) and weaving cloth(织布). Nearly every family {#blank#}5{#/blank#} ( have) a loom(织布机). A shuttle is a tool on the loom that moves {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ( quick) when someone is weaving. Since it was so often seen, ancient Chinese used it in this saying.

 Another popular Chinese saying {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the passing of time is"白驹过隙". It means that time flies by like a white horse running past a crack (缝隙) in a wall. The saying comes from {#blank#}8{#/blank#} book called Zhuangzi. In this book, it is said that Confucius came to Laozi to ask about the ultimate(终极的) truth of the universe. Laozi told Confucius that a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ( person) life was as quick as"a white horse running past a crack". One's body would die, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} his or her spirit could live on forever.
