" Am I an'I' person or an 'E' person?" It is a popular topic among young people around China today. Many people are crazy about it so that they take a personality test named MBTI to find out the answer.

Many people find the test useful. It groups people into 16 types, which start with the letter"I"or" E", such as" ENTJ" and"INFP"." E" is short for" Extroversion" while"I" is short for" Introversion". After testing, some say," I'm extroverted; I should go to parties and make friends," while others think," I'm introverted; I prefer working alone, and maybe I' ll be a writer someday." They believe knowing their type can help them make quicker choices about activities, careers, and life paths.

However, there are some problems with the test. Some get different results when they retake it, and some find it hard to answer certain questions. For example," I like watching TV alone, but I also enjoy hanging out with friends. Am I an'I' person or an'E' person?"

When you take a personality test, you may think," Oh, that's me." That's because the descriptions are generic. They can be used to describe many people. Research has found that over50% of people got a different score when they retook the MBTI test just five weeks later. Personalities can change with time, and they are not black- or- white, scientists say. You may be introverted now but become extroverted when you get older. Or, you can be both an"I" person and an"E" person. Don't label(贴标签) yourself! Studies have also shown that the test is not real at telling people's success in different jobs. So, don't take it too seriously.

These days, more and more people like the "city walk" around China. The city walk is a kind of city tour coming from the UK. It means tourists follow a planned route（路线）working deeply on the city's history and culture. During the traditional kind of travel, people need to follow a group of people. But city walk routes are special for every tourist. People probably choose a route on their own and move on foot without a purpose（目的）. They can also talk with locals（当地人）and taste local food on their way. 

City walkers may be tourists from other places or local young people. For tourists, by taking part in a city walk, they can learn the city's history and culture. For the local young people, they may spend weekends knowing more about their living places. And they even share their routes and places online. So more people get interested in their cities and come to visit them. 

Now the city walk is very hot. However, we also find that to make money, some travel agencies（旅行社）may make some routes without understanding the culture and history of a city. That will make tourists lose interest in the city walk. What's more, many young people spend much time taking photos to just show themselves online.

Where to buy things

When going shopping, we say mai dong xi, not mai nan bei. It is said that in the Tang Dynasty, there were two popular markets in Chang' an. One was called the East Market, and the other was the West Market. When shopping, people usually went to the East Market first, and then the West Market. As time went by, people started to describe shopping as mai dong xi.

Left or right

In Chinese, we say yi jian xiang zuo when we don't have the same idea. Why is it not yi jian xiang you? Most people today are right- handed. They feel uncomfortable if they use left hand to write or eat. It was true in the past too. So in ancient Chinese,   ▲  .

"Left" and "right" also have something to do with people's status(地位). For a long time in ancient China, "right" stood for higher status than "left".

Up or down

We use shang ce suo to mean "go to the bathroom" and xia chu fang to mean "go to the kitchen". Why? In ancient times, houses were laid out(布局) in a certain way. The gate would face south, with the bathroom in the northeast of the house and the kitchen in the southeast.

On maps, north is usually at the top while south is at the bottom. In Chinese, we talk about "the north" as shang and "the south" as xia. So people say they are going "up" to the bathroom and "down" to the kitchen.
