As a banker, Billy had never planted so much until he moved to the countryside seven years ago. Soon he became interested in growing and rented (租) a 30- by-30- foot land. One weekend, he planted tomatoes, potatoes and eggplants. He ended up with so many 1 that he couldn't eat them up. 2 he found a local food bank, and gave away 120 pounds of fresh vegetables in all. Moved by Billy's kindness, some people offered to help 3 .

The following year, together with several 4 , Billy planted and got 1,500 pounds of vegetables. All of them were given away to the food bank. Later he had more volunteers, rent more land and gave away more vegetables.

 Billy also 5 local school kids. On a Friday morning in May, 40 third and fifth graders walked onto one of his fields. Each of them had a spade(铁锹). They dug holes and6 put the plants in them. Although they got their clothes and hands 7 , nobody complained(抱怨).

Jenny was a nurse in a children's hospital. One evening there was a big dance in the hospital, Most of the doctors and nurses would be there, but of course some had to look after the children. Jenny was not among the fortunate (幸运的) ones who were free to go to the dance. She enjoyed dancing very much, so when she had to start working that evening while her friends were getting ready to go to the dance, she felt very sorry for herself. She went to each sick child one by one and said good night. She came to a little boy called Tommy in the end. Tommy was only 11 years old, but he already talked like an adult. Poor Tommy had a very serious illness, and now he could hardly move any part of his body except his hands. But he was happy and thought about others instead of himself all the time. 

When Jenny came up to his bed, he said, "I'm sorry that you have to miss the dance because of us. But we are going to have a party for you. If you look in my drawer, you'll find a piece of cake. I saved it from my supper today, so it's pretty fresh." "I'd get up and dance with you if I could," he added. 

Suddenly the hospital dance seemed very far away and not at all important to Jenny. 

 My father is a traditional Chinese father. He {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(结婚) my mother ten years ago. He is tall and thin. He is a {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(邮递员) , so he is busy with his work. But he cares about my {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(全部的) family. He plays games with my little brother when he has free time. He also takes care of me when I have a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(严重的) disease and stay in the hospital for a week.

 He scldom{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(大笑) or bugs me, but his love made my family warm. His love is silent just like a mountain.

I've collected stamps for five years. Five years ago, my grandpa took me to a post office. He was going to send a letter to his old friend. We arrived. 1  , so there weren't many people. He wrote down his and his friend's information with the help of the postman ( 邮递员). Suddenly, I saw something colourful. There 2  a display case(展示柜) with many stamps in it. Each of them looked 3  . It was my first time to see so many beautiful stamps. The kind postman showed 4  those stamps. I was excited 5  them. There were many patterns(图案), like some famous people and valuable animals in China. From then on, J began to collect stamps. I put my stamps on the shelf and often 6  . I really enjoy looking for different kinds of stamps, and I'll keep on doing this.
