Last week I had a pretty good vacation with my family. We had great fun playing in different places. On Monday, the weather was sunny and hot. We went to White Beach and _______ (swim) in the water. On Tuesday, it was cloudy and humid(潮湿的).We visited two museums in Central Park. We saw many old things. On Wednesday and Thursday, it was rainy and windy. We walked in the city. We bought some interesting things and ate some delicious food. On Friday, the weather was cool. We went hiking in the mountains.我们很累但是感到很高兴。I really enjoyed my vacation.

Jellyfish and Crocrodiles（水母和鳄鱼）

    Hi, my name's Ben. My family, that's Mum, Dad and me, live in Broome in Western Australia. Western Australia is about 80 times larger than Italy, but only 1.5 million people live there. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} It has a population of about 12,000. It's right on the coast and is known for its famous Cable Beach, which is 20km long.

    We live in the town in a house with a large garden.  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} We drive to Cable Beach and look for a quiet place to swim or to fish. We don't go swimming from October to March because there may be box jellyfish in the water. The box jellyfish is one of the most dangerous jellyfish. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} If you are attacked by one, the best thing to do is to pour vinegar（醋）over the area of your body where you are hurt. That's why we always take a bottle of vinegar with us.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} A year ago I went camping in the bush with my friend Bill and his dad. We wanted to do some fishing and set up camp about 20 metres from a river. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}Bill's father told us to get up and we quickly got out of the tent and ran to the car, which was only 10 metres away.

    Bill's dad started the car and turned on the headlights. In the light, we could see a big crocodile pulling the tent into the river!

Dear Mr. Hunt,

    My problem is that I can't get on with my family.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}They fight a lot, and I really don't like it. It's the only communication they have.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} When they argue, it's like a big, black cloud hanging over our home. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}He always refuses to let me watch my favorite TV show. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}I don't think this is fair. At home I always feel lonely and nervous. Is that normal?{#blank#}5{#/blank#} 

Sad and Thirteen

    Lots of kids like to play computer and mobile games these days. Is this good or bad for us? How do we deal with this issue?

    In my opinion, playing games responsibly(负责任地)can help us relax. As the old saying goes," All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. "For example, when I finish five days of studying, I feel tired. That's when I like to play a game called King of Glory with my classmates. We all have lots of fun playing and talking about it. When we win, we feel happy. And when we lose, we still want to play more. I think that's why so many students in our school like to play this game. It can not only help us relax, but also strengthen our friendship.

    In addition, playing games can exercise our brains and help us think more quickly. When we start to play a new game, we're not very good at it. But we can get better through practice. This process exercises our brains and makes them more active. However, you should make sure that you have finished all of your homework before you play games.

    Still, some students seem like they are addicted(上瘾的)to games. They can't control themselves and will play games for five hours a day. That is not good. It's bad for not only their eyes, but also their health. They will feel tired in class the next day, which will affect(影响) their studies. That's not very responsible.

    Therefore, I can only say that we should try to be self-disciplined(自律的)and responsible when working out how much time we should spend playing video games.

    How do people find theirinner talent (潜力)? British author KennethRobinson talked about this at TED. He told the story of Gillian Lynne, a dancerand a choreographer (编舞者) who has worked on manyfamous musicals (音乐剧).

    Gillian Lynne never didwell in school as a child. She couldn't sit for long and often found herselfmoving restlessly (不安地). Her mother was reallyworried about her. She took Lynne to a doctor and told the doctor the problemsLynne was having in school. Then, the doctor said to Lynne, "I need tospeak to your mother first. Wait here."

    As they left the room,the doctor turned on the radio. He then said to Lynne's mother, "Juststand and watch her." Later they found Lynne start dancing to the music onthe radio.

    The doctor then turnedto Lynne's mother and said, "Mrs. Lynne, your daughter isn't sick. She's adancer. Take her to a dance school."

    So the mother did. Lynnefound there were many people like her in the new dance school. They all had tomove their bodies to think. Lynne later went to the Royal Ballet School (皇家芭蕾学校) one of the world's greatest dance schools, and became a greatdancer, she worked on some of the most successful musicals in history, such asCats and Phantom of the Opera (《歌剧魅影》). It is hard to believethat years ago, somebody else would just put her on medication (药物治疗) and tell her to calm down.
