    Claude Monet's paintings were quite different from the art styles that were popular in the 1870s France. Traditional artists always did their artwork in a studio and their paintings were realistic-they looked exactly like the real world. Claude Monet was part of a group of painters who were called Impressionists(印象派画家). Their paintings were light and a bit fuzzy-they gave an impression of what the real world looked like. Sometimes Impressionists worked outside, which was a very unusual thought in their time. Impressionism received its name from an early painting by Claude Monet titled impression, Sunrise.

    Knowing that trains were interesting subjects and represented modern progress, Claude Monet crated a series of Impressionist paintings of trains from January to March of 1877. He worked on his paintings right on the train platform at the Gare Saint-Lazare, the train station on Saint Lazare Street. Although there were many train stations in Paris, this was the first train station built in Paris so it had historical significance(意义).

    Monet's friend, Impressionist painter Pierre Auguste Renoir, told the following story to his sons about Claude Monet and painting the trains. Monet needed permission(允许)to spend time on the train platform and paint what he saw in his impressionistic style. One day Monet dressed himself in his very best suit along with a fine top hat, a good linen shirt and a silk tie. He appeared to be a wealthy gentleman while he really was a poor painter.

    When he went towards the clerk at the train office, he presented his calling card which introduced him as Claude Monet, Painter. He asked to see the station master. The clerk quickly allowed this fine gentleman to enter the station master's office. The station master was also impressed and gave Monet permission to paint on the train platform. The station master even kept trains from leaving on time so Monet could complete a scene even though passengers complained.

    Was it all worthwhile(值得)? Monet's train scenes turned his career into a success and for the station master, made his train station famous until even now.

    I had a summer camp with my classmates last year. Early in the morning, we gathered at the bus station .After saying goodbye to our parents, we got on the buses. It took us more than two hours to arrive at the camp ground

    We got off the buses cheerfully. Laughing and shouting, we jumped and ran all over the place. It was the first time for us to be away from the parents. Some of us started to feel homesick However, when the night party find dances began, the homesickness(想家)was gone.

    The next day, everybody rushed to the boating class, hoping to be at the head of the others. At first, my friends and l worked hard, but the boat wouldn't listen to us and kept going round and round. Then the teacher taught us how to work together. After many tries, we did much better.

    Swimming class was my favourite. It was about the hottest time of a day and the best time to stay in the cool water. The swimming teacher was a funny man, and during the class he often made us laugh happily.

    During the week I learned a lot of new things and made many new friends. I also learned how to take care of myself.

    A middle school teacher from Jiangxi Province gave up her job in e 2005. He Hong has already held many large exhibitions since she took up the traditional art. Her beautiful creations and outstanding skills attracted lots of people. Now, she is considered as the "Queen" of Chinese paper-cutting by many people nationwide.

    Her father worked in the local cultural center. She had an opportunity to learn from some experienced folk (民间的) artists when she was five. With the increasing skill day by day, she began travelling far and wide to find modern ideas from more people. She looked for inspiration(灵感) wherever she went.

    She worked as a teacher for over ten years. In her teaching time, she coached many students in paper-cutting. And over 150 students received first prizes in paper-cutting contests under her guidance. By chance, she established her own company, aiming to further increase the traditional art's influence. She centered great efforts on studying modern consumption trends(消费趋势). And she has created all kinds of household things to meet the need of the market. To her surprise, all her paper-cutting products have sold well in more than 3,000 stores across the country.

    In the course of running her enterprise ,she has set up a complete supply chain(供给链) including design and production as well as sales. It has made many improvements compared with traditional business models. In addition, she spreads her business to clothes, electronics and gifts, along with other industries.

    Not many kids are willing to help around the house, but if you start early and then make a list of chores that need to be done and by whom, they'll soon come to accept it as a part of life.

    Sarah doesn't think you should ever pay children for chores with money or rewards (奖赏) ."This will make them think that the chore is an 'extra (额外的事物)'that they don't have to do if they don't feel like doing it," says Sarah.

    "If children are trying to save for something specific like a computer game, it may be an idea to give them extra chores like washing the kitchen floor, watering plants or washing the car that you will pay for," "Liz says." ②Then at the end of the month they get a little extra pocket money. It teaches them about saving up, and working for the things they want."
