Jack Green is 75 years old. He is not in good condition. "I think I'm ill," he tells his wife, "I feel awful. I've got a headache and I don't feel like eating."

    "You've put on a lot of weight recently. You should see the doctor," his wife says, "ask him how to lose weight. It's not good for your health."

    "OK," says Jack. He goes to see a doctor.

    The doctor checks his heart and weighs him. Then he says, "You are too heavy. You need to do some excercise to lose about 30 kilograms. Run two miles a day for the next 100 days. Then call and tell me your weight."

    A week later, the doctor receives a call from Jack. "Doctor, I ran two miles every day and I feel much better. But I have a new problem."

    "What's that?" asks the doctor.

    "I'm 14 miles away from home, and I can't find my way back."

I went home one Saturday afternoon in the autumn of 1993 to get some work done in the garden. While sweeping leaves on the ground, my five-year-old son Nick came over and asked me to write something on a piece of paper to make a sign for him.

    "What for?" I asked.

    "I'm going to sell some of my stones," he answered.

    Nick was fascinated with stones and had collected many stones from all over. "I'm too busy to do that for you. Go and ask your mum for help," I said.

    A short time later, Nick, returned with a sign, reading, "Stones, One Dollar Each". He took the sign, a small chair and 4 of his best stones and walked to the road in front of our garden. There he put the stones in a line and sat down on the chair.

    After half an hour, nobody passed by. I walked to him and asked him to go back, but he didn't. Another half hour later, a small car came down the road. I watched as Nick stood up, holding his sign up. A woman rolled down a window and read the sign. I couldn't hear their talk, but I saw the woman turn to the driver and the man reach for his pocket.

    I sat in the yard, as Nick ran to me. Waving the dollar, he shouted, "I told you I could sell one stone for a dollar—if you believe in yourself, you can do anything."

    "I am a selfish child.

    I hope the sunshine lies only upon me, so I can feel its warmth.

I am a selfish child.

    I hope there is a corner of the world that can comfortable for me when I am sad,

    I am a selfish child.

    I hope my mom belongs only to me, so I can enjoy the sweetness of love. "

    This poem was written by a middle school student in a lonely mountains town in Yunnan Province during her first poetry class. The girl missed her mother, who died when she was 5.

    Kang Yu, the teacher who taught the girl how to write the poem, graduated from Renmin University of China in Beijing in 2015. Soon after her gradation, Kang moved to a town in Yunnan, and worked as a teacher at a middle school there.

    Kang said, "Compared with students in the city, perhaps students in the countryside need a way to express their feelings and be heard more." Supported by the headmaster and other teachers, the school held eight poetry classes for students every year.

    As the classes grew in popularity, Kang became the school's favourite teacher. After she finished her teaching at the school in June 2017, she returned m Beijing and planned to study abroad.

    However, on Teachers' Day in 2017, Kang received a big box full of poems and Letters written by students at her old school. She felt she was needed and decided to abandon her plan of studying abroad. Instead, she set up Enlighten our Future, a charity that reaches students in the countryside how to write poems.

    "Now, I go to several places every week I sleep less than six hours a night and the job  provides no vacations and little money, but the happiness and satisfaction I feel is rewarding enough." Kang said.

    Many families do not eat healthy food. If you do not eat good food, you will not be healthy. Dr Smith from the local hospital says that people need to eat a lot of healthy food as follows(如下) ,

    Rice and noodles.

    Fruit, such as oranges and apples, and vegetables, such as carrots, onions, tomatoes and potatoes.

    Meat, such as pork, chicken and beef.

    Dr. Smith says that people should not eat unhealthy food like hamburgers, candies or ice cream, or have drinks such as cola. Instead(相反), they should drink milk, juice and water.

    So, to stay healthy and keep away from the illness, eat only healthy food!

    Want to be a hero? Better take a trip to the Great Wall. As the saying goes: You are not a hero1 you have climbed the Great Wall. As a wonder of architecture (建筑),it 2millions of tourists each year. Also, it is the most visited place for foreign leaders when 3come to China.

    The Great Wall has different sections (段)and each one is very 4 Jinshanling Great Wall in Hebei is 5 section. In spring, it is in the middle of a white apricot blossom (杏花林).6 summer time, green plants circle the wall. In autumn, maple leaves (枫叶) 7 a golden and red scene. And 8puts the great wall in a world of white snow.

    The "wild wall" is great for backpackers. Wild parts of the wall are for the adventurous (敢于冒险的人)9 they are the same as they were originally. Jiankou Great Wall is a famous one. Trees grow up from in between the stones. In some places, you have to climb the stones with both your hands and feet. Be 10when you visit the wild walls. You'd better not go there alone.

Mr. Rabbit is a famous {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. He did {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in the 100-meter race against a tortoise (乌龟) last year. This time he won't fall asleep again. He'll be more {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. And he asked birds to {#blank#}5{#/blank#} him on. He is sure that he can be the first one to cross the finish {#blank#}6{#/blank#}. Mr. Monkey is good at jumping. He'll take part in the high jump and the long jump. It was bad that he only {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the second place in the long jump last year. Now he keeps practicing jumping early in the morning. He {#blank#}8{#/blank#} he'll win this time. Tigers will play {#blank#}9{#/blank#} lions in the 800-meter relay race. Tigers are practicing {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the stick to each other. A tiger's feet were hurt not long ago. But he keeps on running. Tigers will do their best to win the first. Of course, some other animals, such as cats, dogs and elephants are busy playing sports, too.
