I stood nervously behind the red curtain and looked out across the stage (舞台). A girl about my age sat at a piano; I could see her fingertips 1 over the black and white keys in front of her. 

My body froze when the girl stood up from the bench. It was finally my turn. I could hear my heart beating 2 . The girl passed by me with a smile, I heard her say "Good luck"! 

"Well, here goes nothing." I said to3 , 

Then I stepped onto the stage and walked slowly toward the piano. The 4 lights nearly blinded me, making it difficult to see the audience. When I reached the piano, the sounds of whispering soon turned into complete 5 . I stared at my 6 fingers and for a moment my mind went blank! Closing my eyes, I imagined the music sitting in front of me and tried to recall (回忆) every detail. 

Finally, I took a deep breath and began to play Beethoven's Moonlight sonata (协奏曲). My fingers began to 7 over the keys. The rich tones of the piano rang out. One by one, each muscle (肌肉) in my body loosened and 8 .
