Liu Xiang is a famous runner in the world. He was the winner(获胜者) of the Athens Olympics(雅典奥运会). The Chinese people are proud (自豪) of him. He is a hard-working young man. He is still strong and healthy. Why is he in good health? He usually gets up early in the morning and exercises every day. He likes listening to music and he sings well. He has good eating habits. He never eats junk food and hardly ever smokes and drinks. He goes to bed early and sleeps 8 hours every night. He often says, "It is important(重要) for health to have a good lifestyle."

    One Friday morning, Chen Hua gets up late. When he gets to the door of the classroom, Mr. Gao, his math{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（teach）says, "You are late again. Now how{#blank#}2{#/blank#}（much）times are you late this week?"

    "Three times," says Chen Hua.

    "Why are you late{#blank#}3{#/blank#}class?"

    "Because I get up late."

    "Why don't you go to bed{#blank#}4{#/blank#}/'ɜ(r)li/?" asks the teacher.

    "It isn't{#blank#}5{#/blank#}（I）fault（过错）, Mr. Gao. The TV show is over{#blank#}6{#/blank#}about eleven," answers Chen Hua.

    "Now, please give me your{#blank#}7{#/blank#}/'həʊmwɜ:（r）k/." says the teacher.

    "I'm sorry I don't do it," says Chen Hua.

    "Why don't you do it?" asks the teacher.

    "Because the first part of the homework{#blank#}8{#/blank#}（be）too easy. I don't think I need to do it. The second part is too{#blank#}9{#/blank#}/'dɪfɪkəlt/ for me. I can't work it out. {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I don't do it," answers Chen Hua again.

I still remember my first day at school. My sister, Sandy, studied there too. Dad and I waited for her at the school gate after school. Every day, she ran out of the school ha ppily with her 1 . I wanted to paint too. 

I was five years old when I 2 school. Most children started school in September, but I started school in January because I was born in December. Three other children started school on the same day as me. I was really 3 about my first day. I had my new uniform* ready: a black skirt, a white T-shirt and a new red bag! When we got to school that day, a teachermet 4 at the school gate. 

Dad said 5 to me and went home. I stayed there with the other children. I didn't talk to anyone 6 I was afraid. Then Mr Wilson took us to our classroom. All the other children were there. Everyone looked 7 us when we walked into the room, I was a bit sad and really wanted to 8 . 

But soon, I began to play with children on the playground and our teacher read us some stories. Later we drew pictures with 9 . At lunch time, I made a new friend called Megan. At the end of the day, I happily 10 to the school gate just like Sandy always did. 

Pan Yuzhen,77, comes from Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. She is an inheritor(继承人) of Miao embroidery(刺绣).

"The girls in my hometown can embroider at an early age. When I was five years old, I learned embroidery from my mother and sister. Miao embroidery skills are not easy to learn, but I have learned all embroidery methods," Pan said. At first, Pan embroidered for her own use, but as she grew older and married, her skills were put to use for her family, creating beautiful embroidered clothes.

 To treat her daughter and feed the family, Pan embarked on a journey, travelling to different cities to sell her Miao embroidery products.

 In 1999, Zhang went to Beijing to join her mother. At that time, Pan had a store in a market. Here, she met a lot of foreign friends who were attracted by her embroidery skills and encouraged her to expand her business abroad." They advised me to go to foreign countries and sell cultural and creative products. Then I went to the US to do business connected with Miao embroidery," Pan said.

 In 2016, Pan's career took a huge leap forward as she worked with a famous clothing brand(品牌) in China. With the help of the brand, Pan went to the UK to take part in different fashion shows. Now Pan is well— known. Pan hopes more young people can inherit Miao embroidery skills.

There are usually too many buses and cars before the Spring Festival. So Wang, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} man from Lu' an, Anhui, China, went back home in a special way this Spring Festival. He flew a small plane with his 7-year-old daughter to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (they) hometown.

Wang works as a flight instructor (飞行教练), {#blank#}3{#/blank#} he often travels by flying plane himself. This trip from Lu' an to his hometown, Lixin village, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (take) about sixty minutes. If he drives a car, it usually takes around three hours. It's about two hours {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (early) than traveling by plane. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (lucky), there is a large place near his hometown and he could land (降落) there.

Wang put the video of this trip {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the Internet. Some people showed {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (worry) about the safety (安全) of flying a small plane with a child. But in Wang's words, he began {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (fly) with his daughter even when she was four. Many other people admired (羡慕) Wang and his daughter so much {#blank#}10{#/blank#} they wished to fly back home in this special way, too.
