Mobile phones are becoming more and more popular not only with adults but also with students. However, they also have become a problem for middle schools in the last few years.

Some children have got mobile phones as Christmas or birthday gifts, and more will ask their parents to buy phones for them.

Many students like mobile phones because they are easy and quick. Some parents feel it convenient because they can get in touch with their children. Some teachers think using mobile phones is a distraction(分心的事)to students during school hours and mobile phones also give them much trouble in their classrooms. Sometimes students send phone messages to cheat(作弊)during exams. A new study says that some teenagers even hurt their fingers because of the over-use of mobile phones. They keep using mobile phones for more than ten hours during a day.

Many teachers suggest that students should not have phones at school, but if there is a good reason, they can leave their phones at the school office. Many people think they understand why parents would want their children to have them, but they agree school should let the students know when they can use their mobile phones.

Several years ago, the United Nations（the UN）issued（发行） a set of stamps celebrating poetry（诗歌）from around the world. The purpose was to show the important role poetry plays in shaping a nation's culture. For the Chinese stamp, the organization chose Li Bai's Thoughts on a Tranquil Night. For me, it was the perfect choice. I was moved by the feelings that everyone in the world could share: loneliness, homesickness and admiration for beauty and the wonders of nature. 

That poem was written more than 1, 300 years ago during the Tang dynasty. There were so many poets at that time. Li Bai seemed to be friends with most of them, including Gao Shi, Du Fu, Wang Changling and Meng Haoran. Those of you who have watched the film Chang'an probably know that, although being separated, these men knew each other's work and always tried to keep in touch. And, in a sense, they felt connected by a common goal—to do something useful for their country. 

Culture does serve the nation. It is the foundation（基础）on which a nation is built. It provides a nation with its values and spirits. The Chinese appreciate beauty, truth and goodness in their own culture as well as in other cultures. If they had lived during the same era, I believe that Li Bai and Shakespeare would have liked each other's poems. I can imagine them drinking, reading and talking about their poems. Shakespeare would have said, "Ah, yours is a lovely culture. I hope it lasts forever." And Li Bai would've said, "My wish for your culture is the same."

Li Fei and his classmates came back from New Zealand yesterday. He wrote about the trip on the Internet. Let's have a look!

Day 1— Arriving

After flying for hours. we arrived in Auckland. Ms. Field welcomed us at the airport. That afternoon she gave us a talk on New Zealand.

Day 2—A visit to the Auckland Museum

After breakfast, we went to the Auckland Museum by bus. At the museum, we learned about Maori culture(文化). Ms. Field was so kind that she taught us some Maori greetings. Those greeting s were so hard to pronounce(发音) and remember.

Day 3— Meeting new friends

We went to Ms. Field's school. The students were very interested in Chinese culture. We made friends with each other later.

Day 4~ Day 7— Wonderful South Island

We traveled from Christchurch to Queenstown. It was very exciting. We sheared (剪羊毛) the sheep on a farm, enjoyed the delicious food and visited the place where The Lord of the Rings was shot(拍摄).

It was a wonderful trip. How I wish to visit New Zealand again!

Last month, our family had a trip to Shanghai Disneyland. At the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} , we tried the motorcycle-style trains(过山车). It seemed {#blank#}2{#/blank#} but exciting. After we got off,I still felt a little dizzy(晕的), so I almost {#blank#}3{#/blank#} . All my families had a good laugh. Later we went to the Fantasy World, we just sat there {#blank#}4{#/blank#} to meet the lovely characters such as Winnie, Snow White and Mickey Mouse. It was really an unforgettable trip, we will {#blank#}5{#/blank#} visit it again next summer vacation!
