My family

    Hello! I am Li Hua.

I had a summer camp with my classmates last year. 

Early in the morning, we gathered(集合) at the bus station. After saying goodbye to our parents, we got on the buses. It took us more than two hours to arrive at the campground. 

We got off the buses cheerfully. Laughing and shouting, we jumped and ran all over the place. It was the first time for us to be away from the parents. Some of us started to feel homesick(想家的). However, when the night party and dances began, the homesickness was gone. 

The next day, everyone rushed to the boating class, hoping to be at the head of the others. At first, my friends and I worked hard, but the boat wouldn't listen to us and kept going round and round. Then the teacher taught us how to work together. After many tries, we did much better, 

Swimming class was my favourite. It was about the hottest time of a day and the best time to stay in the cool water. The swimming teacher was a funny man, and during the class he often made us laugh happily. 

During the week I learnt a lot of new things and made many new friends. I also learnt how to take care of myself. 

Last summer my parents took me to visit my uncle's family and I was so excited. My uncle lives on a big farm. It's about 100 {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(平方的) kilometres. Their house is at the foot of a large mountain. I always have a good time there.

When we got there, we first went out for a picnic with my uncle's family. We climbed to the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (顶端) of the mountain. The wind was so cool and the {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(风景) were so beautiful. My cousin Rob {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(展示)me some interesting huge stones. They all had unusual {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(外形;形状). Some look like animals, and some look like {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(人). I really hoped I could take one home, but they were too big!

In the afternoon, my cousin Rob took me to the forest. We walked along a {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(小路) and found a hole. It was a trap(陷阱) for hunters(猎人) to {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(抓住) little animals. We found a rabbit amd saved it. Then we saw some squirrels(松鼠) and played with them for a while. When we got home, we were so hungry and {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(渴的). We had a good dinner together. After dinner we watched TV for a while and then we went to bed.

The next day Rob {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(唤醒) me up early in the morning. We went to see the sunrise. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was so beautiful! We enjoyed it very much.

Nicky got home from school, looking unhappy. "What's the matter, my dear?" her mum asked. Nicky {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(拒绝) to say anything about her problem at first, but her mum kept asking. At last, Nicky {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (解释) to her mum.

Nicky's school would hold a model building competition. Many of Nicky's friends would enter the competition. Nicky didn't know {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (是 否) she should enter the competition or not, because she didn't think she was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (有耐心的) enough to build a wonderful model. Knowing her problem, Nicky's mum {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (鼓励) her to join in the competition."I know you will do it very well,"her mum said. "{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (信任) me. You can learn how to do it quickly!"

Nicky thought in {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(无声) for a few minutes, and then nodded her head. To make a wonderful model, Nicky cut out a lot of parts from paper and carefully {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (粘贴) them together with glue. Her mum gave her many good {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(建议), and Nicky also learnt a lot from her friends. On the day of the competition, many models were on the desk. They {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (包括) Nicky's. Nicky thought it was the happiest time in her life!

When at last Daisy and I did meet up, Daisy explained the misunderstanding to me. "Don't worry, " she said to me. "I had so many 13  like this at first. There are lots of words that the Americans 14  differently in meaning from us British. You'll soon get used to all the funny things they say. But most of the 15 , British and American people understand each other. "
