In many children's stories, a girl meets a prince and falls in love. They get married and live happily ever after. As a child, Meghan Markle may never have imagined marrying a prince. But that is exactly what happened on May 19th!

    Who is this young lady who just married into Britain's royal family (王室)？ Meghan Markle was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1981. Her mother, Doria, was a doctor, and her father, Tom, was a television lighting director. For 10 years after school each day, young. Meghan spent time at the studio where her father worked. This experience allowed her to become very comfortable with the acting business. For that reason, she knew she wanted to become an actress from a very early age. As a child, she felt strong about something else, too: People should be treated fairly. This passion (热情) to help others is still a big part of her life today.

    Her acting career (生涯) began in 2002 when she made her first appearance on TV. Other small parts on TV and in a few films followed. Nine years later, Markle got her big break. She won a lead role in the popular TV series Suits.

A cold winter night, a girl quarreled (争吵) with her mother, then ran out of the house. When she went through a noodle shop, she suddenly felt very hungry.

"What is it?" he asked.

"Nothing. I am just touched by your kindness!" she said with tears. "Even a stranger on the street gives me a bowl of noodles. But my mother, after a quarrel, she is not a good mother!!"

"Girl, why did you think so? I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you felt that way. Your mother has been taking care of you since you were born. Why were you not grateful (感激的) and why did you hurt your mom?"

The girl was really surprised after hearing that. "Thanks, I got it."

 On Oct 11, robot history was made when Ai- Da, a human- like robot artist talked at a meeting in the UK. The topic for the meeting was"A Creative Future".

 Ai- Da paints using cameras in her eyes and robotic arms. She" thinks" and answers questions using AI algorithms (算法). She has painted the UK queen and had her work presented in galleries(画廊).

 Describing herself, Ai- Da told people at the meeting that"I am a robot and I depend on computer programs and algorithms" and" although not alive,I can still create art". Amusingly, at the meeting, Ai- Da" slept"— it shut down and had to be restarted. But her ability to answer questions in real time shows the huge developments of AI. These are developments that will continue.

 One person who seems interested in this is Elon Musk. He is planning on creating his own AI robots for his company, Tesla. Musk presented Tesla's human- like robot, named Optimus, at Tesla's AI Day on Sept 30. Tesla showed videos of their robot doing simple tasks like carrying boxes and watering plants, said CNN.

 With robots becoming more and more part of our daily lives, we may have to learn to live with them. But will people be happy to have these robotic friends or will they feel threatened(威胁的) by them? As Ai- Da said," Technology can be both a threat and an opportunity."

Monday began as usual. It wasn't until the third- graders reached their classroom that they noticed a new 1 . She was tall and straight with grey hair and witch's cold eyes, carrying a plant and a book.

"I'm Miss Orville. I've taught for forty- six years," she warned."I know lots of your tricks (恶作剧), 2 I advise you to try none. You' re to be in my charge until your teacher returns. Since I don't know you, let me look at your 3 first. Completed it? Take it out. Now!"

" You call THIS homework?" R-r- rip! A page was torn out and thrown at 4 owner. " Do it again."

 Roger opened his schoolbag. 5 , it fell off. Books, pencils spilled out. Cards, toys, balls..." Ah, we've come to play, have we?" She fixed her witch's gaze on him.

 The third grade was the last to 6 school. The children looked strangely defeated. Roger pulled his mother," We don't have a new teacher but a witch(巫婆) named Miss Awful. Hurry, I have much homework!"

 Finally, on Friday Miss Orville said, " Your teacher will return. This afternoon will be my7 class." At lunch, the third grade talked about nothing except how to 8 Miss Awful. Joey suggested," We could tie a rope in front of the door. She would fall down if she walked over."

" No. She's old," Roger said." We 9 hurt her like that."

" How about taking off the 10 of that plant?" advised someone.

 Roger didn't want to do that, not understanding why. It was a feeling he couldn't explain.

" Well, you worked hard last week," Miss Orville began her class. " Attending school is like a priceless gift. If I've been 11 , it was for your benefit. The world needs good people..."

 She stopped suddenly, staring at the plant 12 its leaves. She faced the class, looking sad.

" Whoever is responsible, I only wish you to be 13 ."

 After class, she said goodbye to the students. They ran out, some regretful, some silent, others cheerful. Only Roger stayed behind. He 14 her, rubbing his hand up and down his coat." Yes?" Miss Orville asked. " Flower, f-l-o-w-e-r. Castle, c-a-s-t-l-e. I've learned 15 you taught us." He smiled to Miss Awful whose eyes were wet.

 People have told stories about Robin Hood for more than 700 years. Nobody knows if he was a real person or an invented character. In the legends(传说), Robin was quite smart and had a playful sense of humour. He loved playing jokes and tricks on people.

"Pick a card, any card!"

 The stories say that Robin Hood was a skilled archer(弓箭手) and he always carried a bow and arrow.

"Ha ha, too easy!"

 He wore green clothes and a hat with a green feather. He lived in Sherwood Forest with a group of outlaws(逃犯), known as his‘Happy Men'. The group included Friar Tuck, "Mmm. yummy!" Little John, who was unusually tall, "Little is just my nickname!", and Robin's true love, Maid Marian. "Take that!"

 Sherwood Forest was a royal(皇家的) hunting forest near Nottingham in England. Most people thought that forests were dangerous places to go. People travelling through the forests were often robbed by outlaws.

"Your money, please, my Lord!"

"Oh no, it's Robin Hood!"

 The stories say that Robin Hood only took money from rich people so that he could give it to people who needed it. So he became famous for‘robbing from the rich and giving to the poor'.

"Here you are, my dear."

"Oh, thank you, Robin!"

 The Sheriff(郡长) of Nottingham was Robin's arch-enemy. It was the sheriff's job to keep the woods safe and to make sure that nobody stole the king's deer.

"What's that? Is that Robin Hood?"

 The Sherlff of Nottingham tried to catch Robin Hood, but never succeeded.

"Oh no, not again!"

 Centuries ago people loved to tell each other stories of Robin Hood. Later he became a famous character in books, and nowadays Robin is still a well-loved hero in books, theatre, TV and films.
