What do you dream of doing in the future? We did a survey about jobs that students are going to do when they grow up. 100 students at the Hill School gave their answers. Here are the results.

35% of the students hope to be famous stars. Some of them like music, so they want to be musicians. Some like sports, so they would like to be basketball or football players.

30% of the students are going to be IT engineers. They think the job must become more and more popular, because the computer and the Internet are changing our life and making our life easier. People can do lots of things on the computer with the Internet, such as shopping and communicating with others.

15% of them hope to be scientists. They decide to try their best to study and they want to make our country stronger and better.

10% of the students plan to start their own businesses (公司). Then they can have more time to do what they want to do and maybe they will make much money one day.

There are other jobs for the students to choose, such as doctors, teachers and drivers. The last ten students decide to choose these jobs.

It's great and important to have a dream. Remember not to give up your dream. One day it may come true.

Cinyee Chiu, an artist from Taiwan, is always happy to try something new. Her amazing works won lots of prizes. Among them, "24 Solar Terms (节气)" is the most popular.

Ancient Chinese divided a year into 24 parts according to the changes of the weather. It's the 24 solar terms. But not everyone knows them well. Cinyee Chiu put the 24 solar terms in pictures to help people understand them better.

Cinyee turned each solar term into an animal. But these animals are not just animals. You can also find seasonal fruits, vegetables or beautiful flowers on them.

When spring comes, water gets warm and fish start to swim around. So Cinyee chose fish as a symbol of Start of Spring. Also, she drew spring vegetables, Chinese chives (韭菜) on the back of the fish.

White Dew (露珠) falls on about Sept. 8. It shows the beginning of the cool autumn. There are colorful leaves and cooler nights at this time of year. As the temperature falls, white dew is often seen on the grass and trees at night. For White Dew, Cinyee chose a raccoon (浣熊)—a small animal with thick hair. She drew white spots (小圆点) on the raccoon to show dew. And she used the dragon fruit to show the rich colors in autumn.

The young artist really gave the ancient Chinese culture a new look.

What do we do when we go camping? First, we work out a plan. We take food, clothing, a knife and things for cooking and eating. We take things to keep us away from insects and the sunlight. 

Then we put everything into the car and drive to the woods (树林). We look for a place for campers and look for a good place for our tent. The place should have a lot of moving air. This will keep some insects away. High land with water on both sides of it is good. Then we put up our tent. We put everything into the tent, and we are ready for fun. We can do many things. We can swim in the lake, walk in the woods, climb a mountain, row a boat or go fishing. 

In the evening, we come back to the tent. We build a big fire because it can keep the insects away. We sit around the fire and talk. We may tell interesting stories or we may sing songs. At night we lie down on the grass. We can look up at the stars. It is a busy day, so we try to go to sleep early. Everything is dark. Everything is quiet. We hope we won't hear music from the radio in the next tent. We hope it won't rain. 

 If you have no special plans for your holidays, why not spend your time helping others? Nowadays, more and more young people in China volunteer to spend their school holidays working for others. And they don't do it for money. Here are some of their plans.

I'm going to help the old people at the Old People's Home. I think they are lonely and hope someone to talk with and share stories. Also, they need to be taken good care of. I will help them do some washing and reading.

 This summer,I'm going to work for Special Help Program as a volunteer. I will visit a disability(残疾) center in my city. I plan to prepare some books and CDs for them. To cheer them up,I decide to play some games and share stories with them.

I'm going to teach kids who have trouble reading. I' ll work for a program called Reading For Life. Every day,I'm going to help kids choose and read books that they like. I love children and I want to be a teacher, so this is going to be a great experience for me.

I saved the rice and wheat carefully and finally had enough to plant. I built a wall around my garden to keep the wild goats away. 

Then when my crop(庄稼) bore its fruit, the birds discovered it. The birds were not afraid of my dog at all. I shot them, but as soon as I walked away, they returned. At last, I killed some birds and hung them among the crop, hoping they would serve as the scarecrows(稻草人), which turned out to be successful. By harvest time, I had nearly two bushels of rice and two and a half bushels of wheat. 

With my new rice and wheat to store, I found a new problem. The fine rice and wheat ran through my baskets. It took me nearly two months to form and dry two ugly bowls — one for rice and one for wheat. 

Next I made some tools from hard wood and cloth to make bread. I made bread with my tools. I spent the third year on the island in farming and making bread. 

Soon after that, I began to think of my days sailing in a tidy boat with Xury. I wished to have a boat and explore(探索) the island by sea. 

I tried to turn over the ship's boat that I had seen washed up, but failed. I was still determined(坚定的) to have a boat. So I chose a strong tree and spent weeks cutting it down. Then it took me months to turn the tree into a boat. 

When it was time to sail, I realised I had made my boat too far from the nearest river. The boat was far too heavy for me to move. I tried bringing the water to the boat instead of the boat to the water. I soon saw it would take me twenty years of work. 

I celebrated my fourth year on the island with two boats, but I was no closer to a sea journey.

We live in the age of the computer. Scientists, teachers, writers and even students use{#blank#}1{#/blank#} to do all kinds of work {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . more than thirty years ago, computers couldn't do much work. They were big and expensive. Only a few people were {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in them and knew how to use them. Today computers are smaller and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} . They can do a lot of work for people.
