We are often educated to have the courage, but we also need to understand "fear" correctly. "Fear" also has the meaning of "awe (敬畏)". If a person has no respect (尊敬) or awe, it will surely bring trouble to the family, to the society and the country. So, how should we do?

    Fear life. Life is the only one. The fear of life will make us value life more. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    {#blank#}2{#/blank#} If we don't respect nature, nature will punish us in turn. All kinds of natural disasters (灾害) will come one after another, making us helpless in front of nature. We should learn scientific knowledge and skills to avoid some dangers.

    Fear your parents. Know how to respect parents and thanks for their efforts. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Fear the law. No rules, no standards. Follow the order, rules of the society, schools and public places. Know the law and understand the law. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Whoever breaks the law can't run away from punishment.

    Fear knowledge. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} We will keep on progressing, have the awe of teachers, and accept their teaching and education with pleasure.

Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

This is an old English saying. Have you heard of it before? It means that we must go to bed early and get up early in morning. Then we shall be healthy. We shall also be rich (wealthy) and clever (wise).

This is true. The body must have enough sleep to be healthy. Children of young age should have ten hours' sleep every night. Children who do not have enough sleep cannot do their work very well. They will not be wise and they may not become wealthy!

The body also needs exercise. Walking, running, jumping, swimming and playing games are all exercise. Exercise keeps the body strong.

Exercise also helps the blood (血液) to move around inside the body. This is very important. Our blood takes food to all parts of our body. The head also needs blood. Exercise helps us to think better!

Human are born with the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to communicate, but some people are better at it than others. Some people are very good at {#blank#}2{#/blank#} and find it easy to express their ideas to other people. Other people find it difficult to express {#blank#}3{#/blank#} well, especially in public. The good news is that communication skills can be {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Here are some pieces of advice. 

Remember that talking to other people depends on body language and facial {#blank#}5{#/blank#}besides words. If you look and sound confident, people will pay {#blank#}6{#/blank#} to what you say, even if you don't feel so confident. Look people in the eye when you speak to them. It {#blank#}7{#/blank#} you seem more honest and friendly, and people will find it easier and more fun to talk to you. 

Practice {#blank#}8{#/blank#} to other people. The most important part of communication is listening. That's why we have two ears and one mouth. When you listen to people, watching their face and body language will help you understand {#blank#}9{#/blank#} they mean. 

Think before you open your mouth. The best communicators express their ideas in short and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} ways. If you are trying to convince (使信服) people of something, be clear and use as few words as possible.

Many of us get to see wild animals only when we visit zoos. These special places let us observe amazing creatures, from big lions and tigers to tiny lizards, and learn about them. It's both fun and educational, but do animals really like living in zoos?

In the past, people could only see dead animals shown in museums. Later, explorers caught live animals and showed them off in wildlife park. Back then, animal welfare(福利) wasn't important. But today's zoos have changed a lot. They' ve made bigger enclosures(围地), taken away bars, and tried to copy animals' natural homes.

Some people think keeping animals in cages for our entertainment is cruel. But zoos say they help wildlife by teaching us about conservation. In the UK, zoos must educate the public because of the Zoo Licensing Act passed in 1981. Good zoos also support protecting programs, which help protect wildlife in their natural homes.

Zoos today state they protect endangered animals because of climate change. Robert Young, an expert at Salford University, says many species would be gone without zoos. Some zoos have breeding(繁殖) programs to save animals from disappearance. For example, Chester Zoo in the UK brought back a rare fish by breeding and releasing them into their local river.

Even though people still argue about zoos, new ways to see wildlife are being developed, like virtual reality(虚拟现实). Imagine walking through a herd of elephants in the Serengeti— it might happen sooner than you think. As technology develops, new ways to connect with nature may become more popular.

Most of us cannot imagine modern life without social media (社交媒体). We use it almost every day in order to keep up with what is happening in our friends' lives, or find out the latest information.

 The greatest advantage of social media is that we can connect with people much more easily. We are still able to keep in touch with our friends if they are far away. Also, it makes it easier for us to make friends, especially for those who are afraid of making friends face to face. Are you shy? If yes, social media has probably helped.

 Social media is also ideal for making yourself heard. Anyone with a voice can express(表达) it. Anyone with a talent is free to show it. Moreover, anyone with a smartphone and the Internet can be a reporter. As a result, it has become much faster to cover the news than ever before.

 Social media, on the other hand, can make us less confident sometimes. A study found that the more a person uses social media, the sadder he feels about his own life. One reason for this is that people around us put colourful information and perfect pictures online in order to show off their best moments. So we often get an incorrect sense of how wonderful their lives are, compared to our own.

 Social media does not cause sadness; it simply provides a tool for us to use. Is it good or bad? Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai says, "What is interesting is the power and influence of social media. We must try to use social media in a good way". After all, you decide how you use this powerful tool.

①What is your favorite color? Does it make you feel happy or relaxed(放松的)? Some people think colors connect(联系) with their feelings. This may be true. Scientists(科学家) ask2, 6596 people from 100 countries about their favorite colors and why they like them. 

②Many people think blue is a cool color. Blue clothes can help you feel relaxed. And the color blue can make people not eat too much. If you don't want to be fat, you may try to eat at a blue table. Blue can also mean sadness. When you are unhappy, you may say"I'm feeling blue". 

③Yellow is the color of the sun. It is a warm color. When you walk in a yellow room you may feel warm and comfortable. Many people like orange because it is also a warm color. In the factory(工厂), orange is the color of workers' clothes. It can help them work better(更好). 

④How about green? When you do your homework for a long time, just stand up and look at the trees outside. You may feel relaxed. Purple usually makes people think of romantic(浪漫的) and beautiful things. On Mother's Day, you can buy your mom a purple sweater as a present.
