Once upon a time, there lived a farmer called Larry in a small village. He had an old apple tree and some little animals lived in it. When he was young, he spent most of his time (play) around it. And it brought him fresh apples as well as much pleasure (快乐).
However, as time passed, the apple tree became old and bore no fruit. Larry thought that the tree (be) useless. He decided to cut it down. He forgot he had climbed the tree and eaten its apples before.

Finally, Larry understood that the apple tree had provided him with so many things and it was home to many lovely animals. He threw away the ax and said to the animals,"I promise I will never cut down this tree. You all can live here happily."
