One day, all feelings were on vacation on an island, and each of them was having a good time. Suddenly, there was a warning of a strong storm, so all the feelings rushed to their boats. Yet, Love didn't want to run away quickly. But as the sky got dark, Love realised it was time to leave. But there were no boats to use. Love looked around with hope.

Just then Richness was passing by. Love asked, "Richness, can you take me with you?"Richness answered,"No, I can't. There's a lot of gold in my boat. There's no place here for you."

Sorrow passed by after a while. Again, Love asked for help. But it was useless. "No, I can't take you with me. I am so sad. I want to be by myself."

When Happiness passed by a few minutes later, Love again called for help. But Happiness was so happy that it couldn't care about anyone else.

Love was growing hopeless. Just then somebody shouted, "Come, Love, I will take you with me."Love jumped onto the boat happily, but didn't know who was giving a hand.

After getting off the boat, Love met Knowledge. Love asked,"Knowledge, do you know who was so kind to give me a lift when no one else wished to help?" Knowledge smiled,"That was Time."

"Time?"asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"Knowledge smiled and answered,"Because only Time is able to understand how valuable(有价值的) Love is."

Henry is my best friend. We all like him because he is funny. He can play many i{#blank#}1{#/blank#} . When he is with his friends, he often plays for them. My birthday is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} October 8th, and Henry is three days younger than I. Today he has a big birthday party at home. Many friends come to his party. Henry's mother {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (cook) a lot of food for them. Everyone gives a beautiful p{#blank#}4{#/blank#} to him. Sally gives him an English dictionary because Henry enjoys {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(learn) English. Bob gives Henry a guitar because he likes playing the guitar very much. My gift is a book about music. At the party, Henry plays the guitar and he also plays the piano. We sing at l{#blank#}6{#/blank#} ten songs and play some interesting games. Some people love playing b{#blank#}7{#/blank#} games like chess. Some people are interested in the balloon show in the garden. It's quite {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (usual) for the little kids so they are very curious (好奇的). After watching the show, we stand in a q{#blank#}9{#/blank#} to get the balloon toys. At the end of the party, we share Henry's birthday cake together. Then we start to dance. We have fun {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (dance) with friends. We have a good time today. 

In the beautiful country of France，there lived a beautiful woman named Mathilde. She dreamed of a rich life and always worried about not having pretty things. She married to a low-paid office worker. Mathilde was not satisfied with how much her husband made even though it's enough for their needs. She believed she should have the nice things that rich women had. 

One evening，her husband came home and handed her an invitation card to a party. Mathilde surprised him by refusing to go. She told him she could not possibly attend the party without a new dress and jewellery. Then her husband advised her to borrow something nice from her rich friend，Madame Forestier. 

Madame Forestier asked Mathilde to choose what she wanted and Mathilde picked a beautiful diamond necklace. When Madame Forestier saw how happy the necklace made her friend feel，she agreed to lend it to her. 

At the party，Mathilde shined and she was the prettiest woman there. All men wanted to know her. It seemed that her dream came true. However，this joy was short-lived. On their way home，Mathilde discovered that she had lost the diamond necklace. 

Being unable to find the necklace，they had to buy a new one just like the one they lost and returned it to Madame Forestier. To afford the new necklace，they borrowed a lot of money. They had to begin a life with hardship. They moved to a cheaper apartment and worked tirelessly. 

Years passed，the once beautiful woman became old. One day on the street，she happened to meet Madame Forestier. Madame Forestier failed to recognize（认出） Mathilde. She was greatly surprised at her friend's appearance. Mathilde told her about the lost of the necklace and how hard she worked to pay back the money for it. She was proud and happy. 

Madame Forestier was deeply moved. She told Mathilde that the diamond on the necklace was not a real one and the necklace was worth only five hundred francs. 

It's 6:00 p. m. Kate's family are having dinner. There is rice, eggs, salads, strawberries and some vegetables like tomatoes, onions and carrots on the table. But Kate doesn't like vegetables. She doesn't want to eat them and puts her bo wl away.

" Kate," says her father.

" Where are my hamburgers?" asks Kate.

" Don't think about them. We need to eat healthily," says Mom.

" How about some ice- cream, then?" asks Kate.

" Kate," Dad calls her name again. He thinks the dinner is nice.

Kate takes a bite(咬一口) of the tomato and quickly spits(吐出) it back into the bowl.

" Kate! Room! Now!" says Dad. He doesn't like her bad eating habits.

Kate runs to her room and cries, but she soon stops. Usually, her parents will get her some other food she likes if she doesn't eat dinner. So she waits.

At about 7:00 p. m., Mom tries to get Kate to eat some vegetables, but she says no.

At 9:00 p. m., Kate wants to eat something, but her parents still don't give her anything to eat.

At 10:00 p. m., Kate goes to the kitchen and sees some vegetables on the table. They don't look so bad. And you know what? They don't taste so bad, either.

Kate learns that she should eat health y food and live a healthy life.

 When shopping for clothes, my mother and I have always disagreed on what fits me well. To me, if it zips, it fits. My mom, however, usually tells me I need a bigger size.

 When I was a teenager, I wanted to dress like my friends, but my body size made it impossible. When mo m told me something didn't suit me, or I needed a bigger size, all I heard was that my body was wrong.

 To avoid arguments, we stopped going shopping together. This continued until  I got engaged(订婚) last year and needed to buy some clothes. When I tried on a blouse. my mother looked at me, and I knew what was coming." You need a bigger size," she said.

 There was no bigger size. I tried to hold back my tears. Maybe I could buy it alone, of course, but my mom is my favorite person to hang out with The idea of looking for a wedding dress without her seemed just as scary as taking her with me.

 And so the day came. As I tried on a simple white dress. I saw tears in my mom's eyes. " You look beautiful! " she told me. Nothing could have shocked me more.

 This one didn't zip up at the back and I did actually need a bigger size, but my mother didn't say that. She just told me how beautiful I looked. In that moment, all the argument s in the past ended. We didn't buy a dress that day.

 We decided to see more, which I would never have predicted.

A few weeks later, we found the perfect dress. We both loved it as soon as I put it on. And during those few weeks, mom and I also found the perfect fit for our shopping relationship.

The Spring Festival is very important to Chinese people. It comes {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the first day of the first lunar(阴历) month. Before the Spring Festival, people usually clean {#blank#}2{#/blank#} house. Children really like this festival {#blank#}3{#/blank#} they can wear new clothes and get lucky (幸运的) {#blank#}4{#/blank#} from their grandparents, parents, uncles or aunts. On the first day of New Year's day, our parents {#blank#}5{#/blank#} up very early and make dumplings. They often {#blank#}6{#/blank#} coins (硬币) into some dumplings. If you eat the dumplings with a coin in it, you can have {#blank#}7{#/blank#} luck in the coming new year. {#blank#}8{#/blank#}breakfast, we do lots of things. We play cards, visit relatives(亲戚) and friends. We sit all around, eat candies, cakes and many {#blank#}9{#/blank#} of delicious food. Each child gets lucky money. We all {#blank#}10{#/blank#}a happy time.
