If you get really nervous when you have to perform in front of many people, you're not {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. It's a very common fear. Even some very experienced actors and musicians get very stressed before performing. Some people say that {#blank#}2{#/blank#} makes them give a better performance, but other people can feel so nervous that they can't perform at all. This is a very {#blank#}3{#/blank#} problem because it influences their confidence and even career. 

The most useful thing to do if you worry about a performance is to try to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Don't think about all the things that could go wrong. Instead, keep calm and think of a good result. Before the performance, imagine people cheering. Think about how good you will feel after a successful performance. And remember, if you make a few small mistakes, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} people won't even notice. 

 Tom lost his job again a few months ago. He is a warmed—hearted repairman. He was really {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of applying for (申请）a new job 

One day, he brought together all his courage to go to a job interview (面试）. The interview was at 10 a.m. and it was already 8:30 a.m. While waiting for a bus, he saw a man {#blank#}2{#/blank#} kicking one tire (轮胎）of his car hard. Clearly, there was something wrong with the car. Tom {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to help.

An hour later, Tom finished repairing the car, getting his shirt dirty. The man thanked him and wanted to pay for the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} "I was just helping out,"Tom {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. "I have to rush for an interview now," he added. "Well, I could {#blank#}6{#/blank#} you there, please !" the man insisted. Then Tom agreed.

While waiting in the long line of the applicants (应聘者） {#blank#}7{#/blank#} his dirty shirt, Tom felt embarrassed and nervous. One by one, the applicants felt the interviewer's (面试官的）office with {#blank#}8{#/blank#} looks on their faces. Finally his name was called. 

The interviewer sat in his chair. To Tom's surprise, it was the man he helped earlier in the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} ! "Sorry to keep you waiting. I just know you'd be a good worker I can {#blank#}10{#/blank#}. Congratulations !" the interviewer said.
