Have you ever picked strawberries yourself? The sweet fruit looks nice, but light pressure can make them out shape, so you have to be very {#blank#}1{#/blank#}  (care) when picking them. There is a name for them –strawberry kids.

 Why are many children so easy to break down? Many students are the only child in their family. Their parents do almost everything for  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}   (they) in their daily life. They hardly ever get criticized (被批评) at home and always feel good about themselves. If these students are criticized strictly by teachers, they {#blank#}5{#/blank#}   (feel) upset and begin to doubt their own abilities. Many schools care more about   {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  (student) grades instead of developing their personality. As a result, students get satisfying grades {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  they are not mentally（精神上地）strong enough.

 Young people should learn how ot make themselves mentally strong. An expert said, “Whenever you are in trouble, don't ask for help too quickly. You should try {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  ( deal) with problems first by yourself. Take an active part{#blank#}9{#/blank#}  sports and social activities. That can help you become mentally strong.”

 Growing up is not just a happy process. Pains also go along.  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}   most important thing is to face the pains bravely and learn from them.

Latin music is very common in countries where people speak Spanish or Portuguese. This music comes from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} 

Latin music is a mixture of European music and African music. It has a strong beat. Many years ago, people played Latin music mostly on guitars with drums, but now whole orchestras with lots of other instruments play it.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} 

 People play Latin music at home or when they visit their friends. Sometimes fans play cards in the afternoon or at night on weekends or holidays while they listen to Latin music. Some people bring guitars and play them when they sing. They listen to the music while they eat.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} 

People who dance enjoy Latin music because it is easy to dance to. The beat is very strong. Dancers can move their whole bodies. They can dance on their own or with someone.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} 

Other people enjoy listening to Latin music. Usually the words are in Spanish or Portuguese, but sometimes they are in English or another language. Many Latin songs have beautiful words, but if a person doesn't understand them, it's not important. A person can still enjoy the music. The sound is international.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} 

     Now lots of parents will buy everything that their children want to have. If they go on with the habit , their children won't know the money {#blank#}1{#/blank#}from hard work .
    Some parents like to{#blank#}2{#/blank#}birthday parties for their children . If they keep on doing this , their children will think it{#blank#}3{#/blank#} for them to enjoy birthday parties every year . Year after year , maybe they will forget their {#blank#}4{#/blank#}birthdays and only remember their own . It is against traditional habits.
    Many parents don't let the children do {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. They think children have only one thing to do. They should study hard and do{#blank#}6{#/blank#}in their lessons . If parents go on doing like this, the children will only learn to open their mouths to be fed and stretch out (伸出) their arms to be {#blank#}7{#/blank#}every day . When the children grow up , they will be able to do {#blank#}8{#/blank#} and they won't even find a{#blank#}9{#/blank#}. Parents should teach the children {#blank#}10{#/blank#}to do housework because it can {#blank#}11{#/blank#} them start good habits of working by themselves.

    A poor farmer had a friend {#blank#}1{#/blank#}was famous for the wonderful apple tree he grew.    

    One day, his friend {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(give) the farmer a young apple tree and told him to plant it. The farmer was pleased with the gift, but he did not know where{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(plant) it.    

    He was afraid that if he planted the tree near the road, strangers would steal the fruit. The friend answered, "If you planted the tree in the sunlight, at least {#blank#}10{#/blank#}could enjoy the fruit. Now you not only have robbed everyone of the fruit, but also you have destroyed (毁掉) a good apple tree !"   

    Oliver Twist is a famous novel {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(写) by Charles Dickens. It mainly talks about the boy named Oliver Twist. His parents  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(死), he has to grow up with many poor {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (陌生人). One day, when nobody pays {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(关注) to him, he runs away in a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (仓促) to London. After he gets to London, he is cheated by one bad guy called Fagin who is very {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (不礼貌的)and then he starts his life of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (偷). In Fagin's house, Oliver also meets some good partners who really care about him. When Oliver is taken to the police station, a good man  saves him and is quite {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (耐心的) with him. He teaches Oliver how to read books, how to learn {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (明智的) and how to be a gentleman. These abilities are very {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（有帮助的）to him. More importantly, Oliver's happy childhood has finally come to an end

    An old saying goes, “When in Rome(罗马),do as the Romans do.” I learned the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of this when I studied in Russia.

    One day I invited some of my Chinese friends to a famous local restaurant in Moscow. My guests and I were {#blank#}2{#/blank#}  from visiting Red Square and happy about our meeting. We had a warm  chat  until  the  waiter  told  me  that  we  were  being  too  loud.  We  turned  our  voices {#blank#}3{#/blank#} .But this didn't last long. The waiter came over to us two more {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  with the same message.

    How bad an impression(印象) we must have left on the local people! In China, it's {#blank#}5{#/blank#}  and important for a host to make a {#blank#}6{#/blank#}  atmosphere(气氛).However, in Russia and {#blank#}7{#/blank#}  countries, having a meal in a public place means you must keep your voice low. You need to be polite to others.

    I felt bad about this. Even though we tried our {#blank#}8{#/blank#} , it's very difficult to develop a new habit.

    Russians have their own special habits. My Russia friend, Andrey always looks around and thinks for a while before leaving home. I asked him why he did this. “Aha,” Andrey said, “in Russia, people always take about a minute {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  over things and plans in their minds before leaving. So they won't leave anything necessary behind.”

    Finding the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  between cultures is much fun. I'd like to keep my eyes and mind open.
