Mike is a factory worker. He is often very tired after a day's work. His wife, Jenny, has no job, so she stays at home to cook the meals. Every day he can have his dinner when he gets home from his factory.  

    One day, Mike came home very late because he was very busy in the factory. He was very hungry when he got home. He was not happy when he found his dinner was not ready. He was very angry with his wife. He shouted at her, "I'm going out to eat in a restaurant." "Wait for five minutes，" said his wife. "Why? Do you think that dinner will be ready in five minutes?" asked Mike. "Of course not," she answered. "But I can be ready to go with you in five minutes."    

    Angelo Casimiro made something new at the age of fifteen.

    Casimiro made a device(装置）. It can charge（给……充电）your cellphone as you walk! When you run, jump or walk, a pair of discs(唱片）inside the shoes can produce electricity. It can be used to charge your phone or any other devices with a USB port!

    People have to move a lot if they use the device to charge. Those who like travelling in the wild will love it. It takes about eight hours' jogging to charge a lithium-ion（锂离子）battery and two hours' playing basketball will only give the cellphone about 10 minutes' charge.

    A device called SolePower is a kind of insole（鞋垫）that can produce electricity. SolePower is like Casimiro's device, but it can fully charge a cellphone after over a four-kilometre walk. So there's a lot for Casimiro to do to make his invention（发明）better.

    Anyway, Casimiro's device is quite good. After all, his invention started something new, right?

 One day, Sam found {#blank#}1{#/blank#} old, small box under his bed. He was cleaning his room when {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(he) hand touched something hard. Feeling curious (好奇的) , he picked it up and looked inside. The box {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(be) not empty with some dry {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(leaf) in it. 

 Sam asked his mom about it, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} his mom said, "I don' t know where it came from. " Sam wanted to find out more, so he decided {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(keep) looking around the house. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the first day, he looked under the sofa, but he only found some toys. The next day, he looked in the kitchen, but he didn't find anything. 

 Finally, the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(three) day came, Sam found a small box on a shelf. It was even {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(small) than the first box. He opened it, and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(find) a shiny coin inside. Sam was very happy to find this little treasure (珍贵之物) . 

Jess Bhamra is the 18-year-old daughter of an Indian family in London. Jules Paxton is the same age and the daughter of an English family. Jess is crazy about football, but because she's a girl, she isn't allowed to play. Sometimes she plays in the park with some boys and one day, Jules, who also plays football, sees Jess playing. They get on really well and Jules invites Jess to try out for the local women's football team coached by Joe. When he sees how good Jess is, Joe puts her in the team. When Jess's parents find out that she's been playing football without their knowing, they make her stop.

The team gets to an important final. Unfortunately, the final is on the same day as Jess's sister's wedding. Joe asks Mr Bhamra to let Jess play, but he refuses. However, her father notices how sad Jess is. So halfway through the wedding, he lets Jess go and she rushes to the game!

When she shows up, there are only thirty minutes left and her team are losing 1-0. Soon, the score is 1-1, and when there's a free kick, Jess has to bend the ball around the other team's players to score. She makes it, and the team wins!

A university in California offers soccer scholarships(奖学金) to Jess and Jules. Jess finally convinces her parents to let her go. Jess and Jules set off for America and both of them become top players in their team. Their parents feel proud because they make their dreams come true.
