How to Communicate with Our Parents

Communicating with parents is one of the first things we have to do. So what should we do when communicating with them? Here are some of my ideas. 

Does scribbling(乱画) things in a notebook make you feel good? Many parents and teachers think it's a bad habit, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} they don't allow their children to do this. In fact, scribbling can be a good way for kids to learn.

What is scribbling? Scribbling is a way of getting your thoughts, ideas and opinions out of your head and onto paper. There are no {#blank#}2{#/blank#} when it comes to notebooks and they can be as clear and organized or messy(凌乱的) as you like.

How to start scribbling? Using lots {#blank#}3{#/blank#} colors helps your mind relax. Just relax, play around and some thoughts come to life. No one needs to see them. 

Almond says, "You can play and discover the kind of things you're really interested in." In your notebook, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a circle. Think of a problem and write it inside the circle. It's the central part. Write something that may help you outside the circle.

Studies show that scribbling can improve your memory and keep your brain active. It can also develop your imagination and help you under-stand things 

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. So just be free to scribble things in your notebook and enjoy them!

Reading is very important. World Book Day falls on April 23 every year. It encourages people, especially teenagers, to discover the pleasure of reading. It is also the day to honor(尊敬) great writers. 

Many countries celebrate World Book Day. On that day, millions of school children can buy books at a much lower price than usual in any bookstore in England. World Book Day is also celebrated in China. Wen Jiabao, the former Premier(前总理) of China, is a bookworm who does lots of reading every day. He called on people to do more reading. " Books cannot change the world, but people can change the world by changing themselves through reading, " he said. 

Why do people like reading? One big advantage is that reading helps us become more knowledgeable and more intelligent. Also, reading helps us to follow the latest developments of science and technology. Besides, reading gives us information about other cultures and places of the world. When we read, we may find many things that are unfamiliar to us. We would have to use our brain to think about them or do more reading to find out the answers. The more we read, the more we know. What's more, reading is also one of the most important ways to learn a foreign language like English. 

Books, magazines, newspapers and other kinds of reading materials can help us to know more about the outside world. So it is necessary for us to spend time reading every day. 

A big rock fell through the house of Ruth Hamilton, when she was sleeping. 

Luckily, she was not hurt. "I jumped out of bed and turned on the lights. I didn' t know what else to do, so I called 911, " Hamilton, from Canada, told CBC. It turns out that the rock is a meteorite(陨石). It came from the outer space! Hamilton said she would keep the rock. 

 So what is a meteorite? You may have seen shooting stars at night. They are flying rocks in space. Earth's gravity(重力) catches them and lets them fall. Most of them burn up in the sky. But some fall down on Earth. They are called meteorites. Every year, more than 30, 000 meteorites larger than a strawberry fall down on Earth, according to science website DK Find Out. 

UK's Natural History Museum says that"the chances(概率) of a meteorite falling are the same everywhere on the Earth. " This means most meteorites end up in the seas. Few people can see them. But still, we have collected 50, 000 meteorites around the world so far. 

 Following are more information about the meteorite:

●A meteorite will become less than 5% of its size when it falls down on Earth. 

●Every 180 years, a meteorite hits a human being, according to a 1985 study by Nature. 

 You may ask: can we touch a meteorite? Does it have radiation(辐射)? Don't worry. The radiation is not strong. Nothing will happen to your body. 

 Dancing is popular all over the world. People dance in theaters, in parks or in their own living rooms. But Yang Liu, a girl in Guizhou, dances in an unusual place. Her stage is a single bamboo pole(竿子). 

 Yang is a performer of bamboo drifting(独竹漂 ). It is a traditional skill in the girl's hometown. In the past, the local people crossed the rivers by riding on a bamboo pole. Now, bamboo drifting has developed into a folk sport. 

 Yang started to learn bamboo drifting at the age of seven. The bamboo pole is very wet and it never stops moving. Yang fell into the water again and again. But the girl didn't want to give up. She always got back up on the pole and tried again. She practised hard every day for three years. Finally, she was able to keep her balance(平衡) on the pole. 

 But Yang didn't just stop there. She wanted to live out her dream of becoming a dancer on a bamboo pole. The girl practised many difficult movements on the pole. She failed endless times, but she never stopped trying. Her hard work finally paid off. Now 26, Yang has made a name for herself as a dancer on a bamboo pole. People can't believe their eyes whenever they watch her shows. Through Yang's dances, many people now know about bamboo drifting. They have found the beauty of this traditional skill. 

Now most people like to keep pets in their houses. They think pets are their best friends. Do you know how to take care of your pet in summer? Here are some ideas for you. 

Never leave a pet alone in your car

In summer, the air in your car is too hot and it can't move quickly. If you let a pet stay in your car for long, it will lose its life because there's little oxygen (氧气) in the car. 

Don't keep cool all the time

If a pet always stays in a cool room, it'll get sick. You should make an exercise plan and walk it in the morning or evening. But remember not to take it out on a hot afternoon suddenly. 

Go to a pet hospital quickly

When your pet is ill, you should take it to a pet hospital at once. You must look after it well till it feels better. 

It isn't difficult to keep your pet healthy and happy. Treat (对待) it well and you can get a lot of fun from it.
