Last Friday afternoon, my parents told me that they {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to take me to the countryside to enjoy the beauty of nature. I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} very happy about the trip. Before the trip, we prepared （把. . . . . . 准备好）everything for it. 

Then the next day, my father {#blank#}3{#/blank#}us to the countryside. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery（风景）. The {#blank#}4{#/blank#}are taller（更 高）and greener （更绿）than those in the city. We stopped our car at times and went out to breathe （呼吸）the fresh air. It was so {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. We felt so relaxed. 

Two hours later, we {#blank#}6{#/blank#}the countryside. It was so beautiful there. We saw some farmers working in the fields. We went to help them and they talked to us{#blank#}7{#/blank#} . 

We had {#blank#}8{#/blank#}picnic in the fields. We enjoyed ourselves very much. We all thought the life in the countryside was more interesting than that in the city. We all hoped to live in the countryside one day. 

Sandy and Ellie are from the same city. Sandy used to be a doctor and Ellie was1 international photographer. They2 while they were traveling many years ago. 

Now the two old 3 are eighty years old. Two years ago，they started planning an adventure﹣﹣"Around the World at Eighty". They got the idea from the novel Around the World in80 Days . They were going to visit eighteen countries and see nine Wonders of the World 4 two and a half months . Unluckily，Sandy got sick at the end of 2021，5 they had to put off（推迟） the plan. They finally made it in 2023. 6 excited they were!

So far，they've seen the Northern Lights and stood in front of the Pyramids. Everywhere they go，7 talk with the people that they meet and make new friends. "For me，one of 8 things of the journey is meeting people，"said Ellie.

My home town Nanning is famous as the Green City. It's in the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of Guangxi. As the capital city, it has a population of over 

8.8 million. It's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} than any other city in Guangxi. What makes my home town great? Let me show you some {#blank#}3{#/blank#} about it.

 The first photo is about the Qingxiushan Park. It's beautiful {#blank#}4{#/blank#} flowers, hills and lakes. Most people enjoy many lovely flowers in different seasons there. Because the weather is very hot in summer but{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. very cold in winter.

 On the second photo, people are choosing fresh fruit in the busy market. We can buy it from southeast Asian {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, ve are in a food paradise (天堂). Delicious local foods are {#blank#}7{#/blank#}, such as sour food(酸嘢), Old Friend Rice Noodles and Lemon Duck.

Look at the third photo. Zhuang people are {#blank#}8{#/blank#} folk songs during the Sanyuesan Festival. It's the special and enjoyable festival here..

 In the last photo, people are very {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to the visitors. They are always willing to lend a helping hand.

 Nanning means a' lot to me and it makes me {#blank#}10{#/blank#} who I am today. It is the perfect place in my heart.

"Mrs. Harvey is out on a business trip (出差) today," the principal (校长) said.

Now they might not have that math test this morning. Alma thinks that news (消息) is just 1 . Then a new teacher walks into the room. When Alma sees 2 , she feels embarrassed (尴尬的). 

"That's your dad?" 3 Cary. 

"Yes, it is," Alma answers. 

"He is wearing a funny T-shirt," Cary says. 

"Yes, he is " Alma says. 

Alma's father, Mr. Alvarez, says 4 to everyone. He writes his name on the blackboard. Then he smiles and says, "I know you are going to take a math test this 5 . But tests aren't fun."

The kids all look at each other.

On the way home, Alma says, "Dad, but we need to learn."

"I know, but I want your classmates to 9 me," her dad says. 

"Just be yourself," Alma says, "and they will like you."

The next day, Mr. Alvarez dresses like a 10 . "Today we will get back to learning," Alma's dad tells the class. "But don't worry, Learning can be fun." Alma smiles.
