Cao Chenzhe is a 16-year-old boy. He was known for his1 act because he saved his classmate's life, using Heimlich maneuver.

Cao recalled that he could perform this first aid thanks to a(n)2 education class. He called on all of people to take the learning3 . Every student should learn to protect themselves or others in a scientific way. And someone advised there should be more4 of learning, such as online competitions and role-plays. Here is the way of performing Heimlich maneuver.

First, stand behind the person.

Second, make a fist with one hand.

Third, put your arms5 the person and grasp (抓) your fist with the other hand near the top of the stomach.

Fourth, make a quick and hard movement inward and upward.

Last but not the least, this way isn't suitable for the children under one year old.

Should We Help Strangers?

Recently our class had a discussion about {#blank#}1{#/blank#} we should help strangers or not. Different students have different {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (idea).

Some think {#blank#}3{#/blank#}we should try to help strangers. Helping others is a virtue (美德), and helping others is helping {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (we). We may come across some trouble and need others' help some day. If everyone isn't willing to help us just {#blank#}5{#/blank#}we are strangers to them, it's hard to imagine {#blank#}6{#/blank#} our world will be like.

However, some worry {#blank#}7{#/blank#} helping others can sometimes bring us trouble. Sometimes we are just misunderstood and even have to pay the cost of kindness.

In my opinion, we should try our best {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (help) others when they are in need of help, but we should also avoid {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (get) into trouble. If everyone tries a little kindness, our world{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(be) full of love.

Huaguxi (花鼓戏) is a form of Chinese opera. It started in Hunan Province. Some other provinces, such as Hubei, Anhui, Henan, Shanxi, also have Huaguxi.

Originating (起源) from songs, Huaguxi dates back to as early as the Qing Dynasty. 在当时，花鼓戏演员主要是农民。They dressed up in colorful clothes with their faces painted, singing and dancing along the street. It was only popular in the countryside, leading to the development of Huaguxi as a theatrical form.

The interesting story with songs and dance began during the early 19th century. At that time, there were only two roles: chou (a man clown) and dan (a young girl), both played by a man. In the 1860s, more roles, including dan, chou and sheng (a handsome young man) were playing and the performance had developed a lot. Women players were allowed in the early 20th century.

Huaguxi has developed quickly since 1949. The most typical Hunan Huaguxi has been provided with about 300 kinds of melodies (曲调). Moreover, a large number of traditional works have been adapted (改编). At the same time, plenty of modern dramas have been created. Huaguxi has improved a lot with the help of the artists who love Chinese culture.

As the powerful singing voice of 71-year-old Liu Aibang echoes( 回 荡 ) across the classroom, students control shadow puppets (皮影木偶) with thin straight pieces of wood, making them step onto the "stage"—a cloth screen provided with light from behind. Those sitting in front of the stage play music on drums, suona and other instruments. 

This is a Daoqing Shadow Puppetry class at Longdong University. Besides Liu. the other performers of the show are all college students. Starting in the Han Dynasty, Daoqing Shadow Puppetry has been included in the national intangible cultural heritage list(非物质文化遗产名单) since 2006. 

However, with technologies becoming more and more popular, many performers moved on to other jobs. Faced with the choice between protecting this art and making a good living, Liu chose to stay on. 

One day in 2020, Liu got a phone call from Zhao Zhixue, the director of the music school at Longdong University. Zhao told him that the school planned to introduce Daoqing Shadow Puppetry into college classrooms. "We want to develop young students'long-term interest in intangible cultural heritage, "said Zhao. 

Excited by the news, Liu became a part-time teacher at the college. He came to school twice a week, teaching a two-hour class each time. Liu hopes to train more young people. "Just as true love is not a one-man show, the inheritance(传承) of cultural heritage needs efforts from both the old and the young, "Liu said. 

There was once a cave（岩洞）near a town. It was called"Cave of Fear" {#blank#}1{#/blank#} who tried to enter it didn't return. It's said that there might be a monster in the cave. In order to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the monster from getting out of the cave, people often left gifts and food at the mouth of the cave, and these {#blank#}3{#/blank#}things always disappeared soon. 

One day, a young man came to the town. When he heard about the cave, he decided to enter the cave and found out {#blank#}4{#/blank#}there was a monster in it. As he went deep into the cave, he heard some strange {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. So he followed them. Suddenly, he {#blank#}6{#/blank#}that something was pushing his back. He was too scared to turn around to look at it. Finally, he was pushed into a huge cavern（洞穴）. As he {#blank#}7{#/blank#}the cave, he got very surprised. He found that he was right in the middle of a big party. A lot of people were {#blank#}8{#/blank#}the party. They were all those people who had {#blank#}9{#/blank#} returned to the town. 

Then those people told him that this was the idea of an old wise man in the town. The old wise man wanted to {#blank#}10{#/blank#}people that if someone wanted to make a change, he should be brave and wanted to have a try. So the wise man made up the {#blank#}11{#/blank#} of the monster. Only brave people could enjoy big parties in the cave. 

My parents are always very busy with their work. When I don't need to go to school, I have to stay at home by{#blank#}1{#/blank#}（I）. 

Sometimes I feel really bored and want to go on a trip. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（lucky）, last week my parents had a four-day vacation, so they decided  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（take）  me to Guilin by train. When we got to the station, we saw many people there and we  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（wait） over an hour for the train. 

Guilin is a {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （wonder） city with beautiful scenery （风景）. There are new buildings everywhere in the city. People there are friendly and the streets are very clean. On the second day after we arrived there, we rented （租） three  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} （bicycle） and rode them around the city.  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} we were hungry, we stopped to eat some food. On the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（three） day, we took a boat trip along the Lijiang River to Yangshuo. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the way, we saw mountains of different shapes （形状）. We spent three days in Guilin and had {#blank#}10{#/blank#} enjoyable time.
