Mr. Brown lived in a small town. One day he  1 a long journey. It was very late when he was going home.  2 he found that a man 3behind him. Mr. Brown went faster, and the man walked faster too.  4Mr. Brown walked slowly and the man walked slowly 5  .

    My friend John is a student. Last year, he went to Japan and stayed there  1two months. I was2 that John was able to 3such a long holiday in Japan because he was 4  . "How did you get so  5  money, John?" I asked. "I thought you could stay in Japan for 6  two weeks." "It was easy," he answered. "I got a job in Japan." "A job? What did you do?"     Tom was a college student. He often made excuses not to attend classes. Also, he spent much of his free time 1 computer games. He never went to the library 2.

    The lion watched a longer while. Then he asked the spider, "But why don't you catch your food in the way that I do?"

    The doctor walked up to her, smiled, put his arms14her, and said, "Mom, let's have the operation!"

    My grandmother had the operation and came out15! Her positive attitude (乐观的心态) added many wonderful and happy years for her and enjoy living with my family.

    When I was 19 years old, I worked in a doctor's office as a medical assistant. I was shy and didn't 1  myself, so I  2 talked with others.  I was uncertain about my future.

    I met a doctor there and became good friends with him. He 3 me to believe in myself and asked me to learn to communicate with others. He helped me accept 4 , and then he encouraged me to5 one or two college classes. I did as what he told me and did very well.
