I am sitting in an empty football field after my last high school football game that finished a few hours ago. I'm the mid-field player on my team. But in fact that's not 1 now. I was the mid-field player because, as I said, this was my 2 game. That's a good way to end a high school football career (生涯), especially if you win, but even though you don't, it's 3 to leave at a high point.

    I was eight when I first started playing football. My dad 4 football, and he used to practise with me at home – passing, catching, running.     It's all over now, and it's really getting cold here. It's starting to snow. The sun's almost gone, and I can 15 see the goal. Now it's dark and I'm sitting here all alone. Well, I guess it's time to say good-bye and move on.

    A poor young man named Liang lived in a small Chinese town. One night, an old man visited Liang in a dream. He gave Liang a brush.

    "Use this magic brush to help the 1." he said," but don't use it to help people who are rich and greedy (贪婪地), or the skill will leave your 2 and you will never paint again."

    But when the rich man was halfway there, Liang painted a 10 in one side of the boat. The boat sank into the water and nobody ever saw him again.

Frank is an 18-year-old boy. He {#blank#}1{#/blank#} from Australia. Now he is studying Chinese in a school in Changsha. There {#blank#}2{#/blank#} many clubs in the school. These clubs are really interesting for him.

In the Chinese cooking club, he learns {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to make Chinese food. Now he can make baozi{#blank#}4{#/blank#}.

Another great club is about Chinese songs. He isn't good at {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Chinese songs. But his classmates are very nice and {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, and some of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} teach him to sing every week.

What's Frank's favorite club? Well, he likes Chinese kung fu club best. Why does he like Chinese kung fu? Because he thinks it is a good way to keep {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. Now he is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} Tai Chi(太极) with a great teacher. The teacher's classes are very helpful and relaxing. He likes telling {#blank#}10{#/blank#} to help students know about Tai Chi.

Project-based learning(项目化学习) is learning while doing. It gives learners the chance to get a deeper understanding of a topic. During the learning, learners use real-world examples and challenges to solve problems. Project-based learning is becoming widely used in schools. How do students learn well through a project? Let's take the example of Sandra.

Sandra, an eleven-year-old student in Sunshine Primary School, wanted to know more about Greek mythology(希腊神话). So she started to work on this project. How did she make it?

From the example of Sandra, we can see that project-based learning allows a student to learn about a topic and then create a project based on his or her talents and skills. Not everyone is a great test taker, but everyone is good at something. Through project work, students can not only learn deeply about a topic, but also have fun learning. So if you're interested in something, why not start with project-based learning?

Allan is a doctor. He is taking notes about the lifestyles of two children, Angela and Andy.

Angela: The girl looks healthy. She knows how to keep fit. She gets up early even(即使) at week-ends. And enough exercise makes her fit. She doesn't eat fast food very often.

But sometimes she eats snacks between meals. Are most girls greedy(嘴馋的)? She should eat fewer snacks. They are not good for her. She can eat more fruit between meals.

Andy: Andy likes sports. He is good at swimming and football. He does sports for over one hour every day. That makes him fit and strong.

But Andy is a picky eater. He doesn't eat enough meat for meals. So he is not tall. And he has another problem—sleeping in(睡过头，迟起床). He gets up too late on Saturdays and Sundays.

To get enough energy, Andy should get up early and eat more meat.

 Have you experienced heavy rain or storms? What was the situation(情况) like? How did you feel?

 Once, there were two women who lived in the same village. They used to grow the same plants in their own gardens. One woman called Lisa was hard-working and took care of her plants every day. The other woman, named Rebecca, didn't do quite as much. She just let her plants grow however they wanted. 

 One evening, there was a big storm with heavy rain. The destruction(毁坏) of many plants was serious. 

 The next morning, when Lisa woke up, she found that all of her plants fell down to the ground because of the rain. However, when she got to Rebecca's garden, she saw that all of the plants were still standing in the garden. Rebecca's plants lived through the storm. 

 How did this happen? The plants of the relaxed woman learned to do things on their own from the very beginning. They grew deeper roots(根) and made places for themselves in the soil(土壤). They could stand up strong on their own, even during a storm. Lisa found out that since she did everything for her plants, they never learned to live through any difficulties. 

 It is the same for us. Sooner or later, you have to let go and become independent. If you just let others do everything for you, you' ll never learn to do things on your own.
