Qing Ming Jie (All Souls' Day) is a time to remember {#blank#}1{#/blank#} dead. It is a major Chinese festival which {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (fall) in early spring. It is an occasion for the whole family to leave the home and to sweep the graves of their forefathers.

    Qing Ming is popularly associated with Jie Zi Tui, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} lived in Shanxi province in 600 B.C.Legend has it that Jie saved his starving lord's life by serving a piece of {#blank#}4{#/blank#} own leg. When the lord {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (succeed)in becoming the ruler of a small kingdom, he invited his faithful follower to join him. But Jie declined the invitation, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (prefer) to lead a quiet life with his mother in the mountains.

    Believing that he could force Jie out by burning the mountain, the lord ordered his men to set the forest on fire. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} , Jie chose to remain where he was and was burnt to {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (die).To honor Jie, the "cold food feast day" began, when no fire could be lit.

    As time passed, the Qing Ming festival replaced the "cold food" festival. To make the festival even more {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (meaning),some time should be spent to remind the younger members of the family {#blank#}10{#/blank#} contributions of their ancestors, and the story of Jie Zi Tui.

All these bring the audience into the dreamlike environment of romantic Hangzhou.

    I had to visit my sister in another town because her husband {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) very ill. My children stayed back in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (they) father's care, except for the youngest. I was nervous taking a train journey alone with my one-year-old daughter. However, I gathered all my courage and boarded the train.

During the long train journey this young man continuously helped me. He fed my baby, sang to her and told her countless {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (story). I was grateful for this man {#blank#}9{#/blank#} had come to my rescue.

    After so many years, I still remember this stranger on the train with a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (thank) heart.

    Polar bears are suffering in a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (warm) world.

    Polar bears live in environments too cold for most animals. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} much of the year, they live and hunt on the frozen Arctic sea ice. Nature has prepared {#blank#}3{#/blank#} for the cold conditions. But nothing has prepared the bears for the danger that {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (threat)the only home they know.

    The polar bears' world is melting. Studies show that the polar ice has reduced by 9.8% every 10 years {#blank#}5{#/blank#} 1978. Now about 20,000 to 25,000 polar bears live in the Arctic. Polar bears depend on the sea ice for their {#blank#}6{#/blank#}． (survive). “The sea ice is more than just this platform that the bears walk over,” says Andrew Derocher, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} scientist who studies North American polar bear populations. “{#blank#}8{#/blank#}  it, they can't exist.”

    Some melting and refreezing of the polar ice is natural. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in a warmer world, these cycles speed up, and bears have less time to hunt. Normally, they have three months in the spring when they gain more weight. The extra fat is used later, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} the bears are not actively hunting.

At certain times of the year, we can see many animals move from one place to {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. This movement {#blank#}2{#/blank#} migration. They migrate 3. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} food, a partner or to search for {#blank#}4{#/blank#} weather. Every fall, millions of beautiful monarch {#blank#}5{#/blank#} begin the journey. They manage to travel a long distance to the places {#blank#}6{#/blank#} they will spend the winter. Scientists find the monarch is able to tell {#blank#}7{#/blank#} time of day. It then uses {#blank#}8{#/blank#} eyes to measure the position of the sun. But the population of them {#blank#}9{#/blank#} in the last few years. The more we know {#blank#}10{#/blank#} them, the greater the chance they will survive.
