Spending time in a bookshop can be enjoyable. If you go to a good bookshop, no assistant(店员)will come near to you and say, "Can I help you? "You needn't buy anything you don't want. If you want to find some books, the assistant will lead you there and then he or she will go away. He or she seems not to be interested in selling any books at all.

    There is a story about a good bookshop. A student wanted to buy a very useful book in the bookshop. But it was too expensive for him to buy. So every afternoon, he went there to read a little at a time. (One day, however, he couldn't find the book from its usual place. He was leaving when he saw an assistant signing(示意)to him. He was surprised that the assistant pointed to the book in the corner. "I put it there so that people couldn't see it or buy it," said the assistant. Then he left the student to go on with his reading.

    Mr. Black lives by the sea. He has a big family and has to work hard, or his wife and children will be hungry. After breakfast he leaves for the sea by a small boat every day. He always hopes to catch more fish.

    One morning, the man got to a good place for fishing. He threw a long rope (绳子)with many hooks(钩子) into the water. He found it heavy and pulled the hooks out of the sea. He saw there was a gold chain(金链) on the hooks. He was of course very glad. "I′ll sell the gold chain for much money, "he thought to himself. "I'll build a new house and buy lots of expensive things. 我将成为世上最富有的人".

    His boat began to sink. But Mr. Black went on thinking and didn't notice what was happening. As he was pulling the gold chain, the boat sank( 下沉) into the sea.

    He lost not only the gold chain, but also his boat and life!

 On April 11th, 2024, the third day of the third lunar month, the ancestor worship(祭祀) ceremony (典礼) of the Yellow Emperor {#blank#}1{#/blank#}( hold) in Xinzheng, Zhengzhou, Henan, China. Chinese all over the world once again looked back at {#blank#}2{#/blank#} hometown of the Yellow Emperor to worship {#blank#}3{#/blank#}( they) ancestor Yellow Emperor, Xuanyuan, pray for the motherland, and wish for a {#blank#}4{#/blank#}( peace) and harmonious world.

{#blank#}5{#/blank#}( join) in the event together, overseas (海外的) Chinese hold a grand ancestor worship ceremony in local areas every year.

 In Sydney, more than 400 people {#blank#}6{#/blank#} are from the Australian Chinese community. {#blank#}7{#/blank#}( includa) more than 70 overseas Chinese {#blank#}8{#/blank#}( lead) from Sydney and other places, gathered together. In San Francisco, more than a thousand people from various social groups, civil organizations, friends, and media at home and abroad gathered to pray for China. This year marks the {#blank#}9{#/blank#}( four) year that the London Chinatown Chinese Association has hosted an Ancest or Worship Ceremony for overseas Chinese in the UK, which {#blank#}10{#/blank#}( great) helps overseas Chinese to " seek their roots and build their dreams" as well.

While living in China, I have learned many new things about vegetables. Although lots of vegetables here are not new to me, the way they are cooked is quite different. 

I always ate potatoes when I was in Australia, but as soon as I tried the potato cooked in the Chinese way, I felt like I was eating a new kind of vegetable which is much more delicious. Another special thing about Chinese vegetables is the kinds. In China, there are different kinds of green tasty vegetables. What's more, some vegetables have good meanings in Chinese culture. Stepping inside a Chinese person's home, you may find paintings of different vegetables. For example, the gourd(葫芦) has many different cultural meanings, including happiness, health and having a large family, just because of its shape and pronunciation. 

You could say that for Chinese people, vegetables stand for much more than just a healthy eating way. They mean delicious food and a good and happy life. 

Chinese people don't just love cooking delicious vegetable dishes. They also love planting vegetables. Chinese people have grown vegetables in their houses for centuries. Now, they have also grown them in the Antarctic(南极地区), and even in space! Here is why. 

Technology has changed the way we live and especially the way we work. For many jobs, workers no longer need to be in the office building. People can telework: they can work at home or in any place where they can use the necessary technology. 

It is easy to think that this freedom of working is good for workers and for families. But as it turns out, teleworking is both good and bad. A new report looks at the advantages and disadvantages of teleworking at home. It looks at 15 countries including Argentina, Brazil, India, Japan, the United States and 10 European nations. 

According to Vargas, the lead author of the report, the study finds that about 20% of people in Europe who work in an office are reported to have high levels of stress. However, there are over 40% of stressed-out people in Europe among those who deal with busy work at home. He says those stressed-out people who work at home have trouble sleeping. The report also shows that teleworkers say that they often work alone and are likely to work longer than in the office. 

But the report also says there are advantages for those who telework part-time, or not all the time. It says this is good not only for the workers, but also for leaders and companies. " The findings show that if workers do it on a part-time basis, this way of working can turn out to be positive results for workers, leaders and companies. " The report adds, " Two or three days per week seems to be the sweet spot. " Half the time in the office and half the time outside the office seems to be perfect. 

Vargas explains that many organisations have developed some working rules to solve this problem. They set maximum(最大量) numbers of days per week, during which people can work outside the work-site. Usually, workers are able to telework two or three days a week.
