Nowadays, more and more schools in China have rules making students wear school uniforms to school. A lot of Chinese students complain about{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (wear) their school uniforms every day. But do American students get {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(annoy) about their uniforms, too? American high schools usually have a dress code(衣着标准), {#blank#}3{#/blank#} is about requirements for students' dressing. Boys at school must wear clean jackets every day. Girls are {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (luck) than boys, for they have more flexible{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (choose) than boys. They can either dress similarly to the boys {#blank#}6{#/blank#}wear a dress. In general, it takes a student 10-15 minutes every morning {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (dress) up for class. As students do in China, plenty of American students also have their complaints about school uniforms. What if students really dislike the dress code and want to get rid of it? Instead of getting punished, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (actual) there're ways to do that. At my school, "dress down" tickets {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sell) on school days. If students are willing to buy a ticket, they don't need to wear school uniforms the following day. I have a strong  {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (believe) that one day Chinese students can buy these tickets, too.

    Li Hua and Wang Hai are two students of Senior One. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}of them work hard but they have various learning methods.

    Li Hua listens to her teachers{#blank#}2{#/blank#}(attentive) and asks her teacher {#blank#}3{#/blank#}help as soon as possible if she has some problems. Because of this, she spends less time {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(do) her homework, so it is certain {#blank#}5{#/blank#} she can keep energetic in the day. However, Wang Hai has quite a{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (difference) way of learning{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (compare) to Li Hua. He likes to sit up late at night doing his homework, so he often feels sleepy in class. As a result, he misses lots of key points, {#blank#}8{#/blank#}makes it difficult for him{#blank#}9{#/blank#} (concentrate) on what he is doing.

    In my opinion, Li Hua learns more effectively in class and she{#blank#}10{#/blank#} be a better learner. So I prefer her learning method.

    April Fool's day is a day {#blank#}1{#/blank#} people can play jokes on others. No one knows for sure how this holiday began. Some English people hold the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (believe) that it began on the day during the 1200s. At that time, King John of England was in {#blank#}3{#/blank#} habit of making a road out of nearly every path he walked regularly. The citizens of one farm village were aware of this. To protect their grass and farms from being destroyed, they built a fence that prevented the king from walking through their countryside. The king sent a group of soldiers to inform the villagers to remove the fence. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} hearing that, however, the villagers developed a plan of their own. When the soldiers arrived, the villagers ran around and shouted wildly with things {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (throw) away everywhere, behaving as if they {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(go) mad. The soldiers reported to the king that they were so mad as to be beyond punishment. The villagers saved their farmland {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (success) by tricking the king. Now April's day {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (remain) in fashion, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} the tradition only allows tricks from midnight to noon on April 1st. Those who try to play tricks in the afternoon act as {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(fool) themselves and are usually laughed at.
