Bangkok（曼谷）is the capital of Thailand, it is very different from Guangzhou. There are a lot of temples in Bangkok. It is hot all year round, so there are a lot of fruits, the most famous fruit is durian（榴莲）. There are many rivers in the city, so the market on the water is very famous, you can buy flowers, vegetables, fruits and other things on the boats.

    The best time to visit Thailand is at the end of March or the beginning of April, because it has the biggest festival in Thailand– Water Festival. It is the beginning of their New Year. Before the festival, people clean their house and cook nice food. During the festival, people sing, dance and throw water on each other. They think that water can clean away bad things and bring good luck. How interesting it is!

    In the UK, bus journeys are very common. Buses are often convenient(便利的）for the people who live or work in the city center. Passengers can avoid heavy traffic and do not have to pay for the parking. However, taking the bus is just a necessary but boring part of life: they get on the bus, pay for it and sit down or find a place to stand when it is crowded. Everyone seems sad and bored. 

    In Latin America, however, bus trips can be wonderful. For a start, films are showed on the buses between cities for passengers to have fun along the journeys. Local buses do not show films. but drivers usually turn on the radio and it can be great for passengers to listen to songs and get relaxed. 

    Even better than films and music are the sights and sounds on the buses. Local buses always go to parts of the town that passengers would not visit by themselves. There passengers can see shops that they have never heard about. And they can also see other cultures of the town from the windows of the buses.

    Besides passengers' luggage(行李)is also interesting. It is common to see a happy dog's head getting out of somebody's bag or a lovely chicken "speaking cheerfully "under somebody's arm. Once on a bus in Peru a farmer even tied a sheep to the top of the bus. It was quite surprising.

    In all, taking the bus in Latin America is really fun and unforgettable.

    It was time for the final exam at a university. The exam was two hours long.

    "Do you know who l am?" the student asked.

    "No, I don't, "the professor replied.

    "Good," the student replied, He then lifted all the sorted(整理好的) exam papers, put his in the middle, and walked out of the room.

    Being street smart is an important skill tohave and a good way to take care of yourself.

    Always carry your phone with you, but do notlook at1 whileyou are walking. Being able to communicate or call for help is important, so keepa list of useful numbers. But put your phone away while you are walking so thatyou can keep your2 upand see what's going on around. If you do need to check your phone,3 andlook at it quickly.

    Don't wear earphones4 you are out. If you have to5 something when you're out, use only oneearphone or play it at a very low volume(音量).

    Travel with6 or family members when possible and never go anywherewith a stranger. It's7 tobe careful with strangers. Remember not to get into a stranger's car if they callyou over.

  8 darkand out-of-the-way places. Do not take short cuts through dark areas, even if itwill make your trip much faster. If you have to go to unsafe places, go9 someone you know or speak to someone over the phonewhile you are there.

    Run and shout if you feel unsafe. Run away asfast as you can towards a police station, hospital, or nearby business for10.Shout as loudly as you can to get the attention of people nearby.

Can you live with no phones or TV? With no cars or supermarkets? Do you want to live in a tree house?

 In A Life in the Trees, Rebecca Moore goes 15,000 kilometers from London to Papua New Guinea. In Papua New Guinea, Rebecca meets the Kombai people. She writes about their lives in the jungle(丛林).

 Moore lives with the Kombai women and children for three months. The Kombai people have no watches and no cars. There is no school for children. Parents teach their children to cook, hunt(狩猎) and swim.

 The Kombai get up every morning at sunrise. Kombai men hunt in the jungle. They can hunt for 12 hours. They also cut down sago palms. The women cook the inside of the trees. The Kombai people eat this food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 The biggest thing of Kombai life is building(建造) their tree houses. The men, women and children all help build tree houses. Each house is 20 meters high. The stories in this book show the Kombai people's lives in the trees.

  I am visiting Australia these days. I took a plane tour1 Ayers Rock, and I was surprised2 it was huge! Ayers Rock is a centre of local Aboriginal culture. The Aborigines are the people 3 have lived in Australia from the earliest times. 

The Australians have a4 relationship with the British. Many have British relatives, and they are like us in many ways. The foods that Australians like most 5 ham and beef with lots of salad. They love all sports.6 most Australians live near the coast, they love going to the beach for swimming and surfing or just7 in the sun. 

There are lots of sheep in the fields and on the hills, but the middle of the country has no trees or grass, just rocks and sand. Australians speak English, but8 their own way. 

During the trip, we went horse riding. The horse that I rode was lazy, so I 9 far behind the others. But I enjoyed the slow and10 ride. It has been a wonderful trip.
