    Confucianism means a lot not only to China,but also to the world .Today,mottos from Confucianism {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(be) frequently used by foreign officials in their {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(speech) or talks.People around the globe can have access  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}Confucius ideas in Confucius Institutes（孔子学院）and Chinese Culture Centers abroad. The institutes and centers serve as non-profit public institutions {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(help) foreigners better understand China through language teaching and culture introduction.

    Today,China has {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(successful) opened 465 Confucius Institutes in 123 countries and regions.There are also 713 Confucius Classrooms operating in middle and primary schools.Chinese Culture Center are introducing China by opening training classes,building libraries,and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(hold) cultural activities.

    Most children with healthy appetites are ready to eat almost anything that {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(offer)to them. A child seldom dislikes food {#blank#}2{#/blank#}it is badly cooked. The way meal is cooked and served is most important and a {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(good) served meal will often improve a child's appetite. Never ask a child{#blank#}4{#/blank#}he likes or dislikes the food and never discuss likes and dislikes in front of him or allow anybody else to do{#blank#}5{#/blank#}. Parents should accent the fact{#blank#}6{#/blank#}he likes everything and he probably will. Nothing healthy should be omitted from the meal because of a{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(suppose)dislike. At meal times it is a good idea to give a child a small part and let him come back for {#blank#}8{#/blank#}second helping rather than give him as much as he is likely to eat all at once. Do not talk too much to the child during meal times,{#blank#}9{#/blank#}let him get on with his food; and do not allow him to leave the table immediately after a meal or he will soon learn to swallow his food so that he can hurry back to the toys in his room{#blank#}10{#/blank#}no condition must a child be forced to eat.

    Most Americans think of New Year as a single day on January lst. Chinese themed floats will “float” by, including {#blank#}6{#/blank#}long Golden Dragon float that {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(take) one hundred people to operate. Local kung fu schools will perform lion dances when firecrackers explode around their feet.

    For many Americans, celebrating{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(they) ancestral culture is as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (importance) as American culture, and they celebrate both.     Last week, I read an article about the terrible history of the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace, located in the western district of Beijing, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of three parks, including the Ming, Changchun and Wanchun, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} covers an area of about 5,200 mu.

    To build the famous royal garden, the Qing government invested lots of manpower and physical resources in it. In order for it to become the European-style palaces built of stone, Emperor Qianlong {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (employ)western designers to design it and made many skillful craftsmen(工匠)work day after day on it. After 130 years of hard labor, their work finally {#blank#}4{#/blank#} off. The Summer Palace took {#blank#}5{#/blank#} its glorious beauty. In a word, its construction style is the {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(combine)of landscape, painting and poetry.

    However, due to the Qing governments being {#blank#}7{#/blank#}, western invaders have begun to invade it since 1860, resulting in it {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(damage) badly, {#blank#}9{#/blank#} little remaining at that time. What's worse, the destruction didn't stop until the end of the war. After liberation, the Chinese government {#blank#}10{#/blank#} great importance to rebuilding the famous garden. Nowadays, everyone is likely to appreciate its beauty if he is free.

    Curiosity is part of human nature. Children are famous for wanting answers {#blank#}1{#/blank#} tons of questions. People keep reading or watching {#blank#}2{#/blank#} they want to find out what happens. But curiosity also provides many practical benefits.

Learning is easiest if you have a genuine desire for knowledge. Curiosity can create that desire when you have a question.

    Many of history greatest discoveries {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(make)by curious people. People wondered {#blank#}4{#/blank#} processes worked or how certain tasks could be done more effectively. Thanks to their curiosity, people now know far more about the world and have useful technology {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(help)them.

    Even if you don't plan to be an inventor of researcher, curiosity can still help you in the classroom. If you develop the joy of learning, classes will become more fun. And you'll excel because you will be fully engaged in the process of learning. Even if you're no longer a student, curiosity will make you better {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(inform)and thus a more capable worker.

    What do you do if you're not already curious? Fortunately, curiosity is a skill that can be improved. If you act like you're curious, you'll quickly start to actually feel curious. Often, the more you learn about a topic the {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(interesting)it becomes.

    As you learn about a topic, gather information from as many sources as possible. Read a variety of books, watch or listen to lectures and ask questions. Don't always get your information from the same source. Instead, learn to appreciate facts that different people know and the different opinions {#blank#}8{#/blank#} they express.

    Ask a lot of questions, Remember, everyone knows {#blank#}9{#/blank#} that you don't. Find out what that is, and ask about it. This lets you learn something and makes the other person happy by letting them show off their knowledge.

In the classroom or out of it, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(develop)curiosity is sure to be worthwhile.

    Dave Tally has no home and few possessions. So, when he discovered an abandoned backpack {#blank#}1{#/blank#}$3,300 in it last week, the temptation (诱惑) to keep the money for {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (he) must have been unbelievable.
