    Hi, I'm Jenny. Every summer I visit my uncle and aunt in Hangzhou. I go there by bus. I get to Hangzhou at about 10:00 in the morning. Then my aunt, my cousin Tony and I take a taxi to the West Lake. We get there quickly.

    We row the boat on the lake firstly. Then we go to the Taiziwan Park on foot. The sun is shining in the sky. We feel hot and hungry. We sit under a big tree and have our lunch. We eat bread, "orange juice, hamburger, milk, and some bananas. Tony sees a fish in the water. So we feed the fish with bread. More and more fish swim to us and open their mouths. We feed them.

    We are very happy today.

    I'm Bill. My mother's birthday is in April and my father's is in July. My dog Lucky's birthday is on December 25. That's Christmas Day! My birthday is in October. I like October.

    Mike is new at school, but he has many friends at school. He likes playing football with his classmates. He likes talking with Lily on the phone. He often gets emails from his friends. They email him photos, too. He often reads books in the library. Books are his friends, too.

    Jack got up late this morning. He ran to the school bus without breakfast. He is very hungry. He got to the classroom at eight o'clock. Then he couldn't find his English book. His English teacher was very serious. What should he do?

Halloween

    Halloween is an autumn holiday that Americans celebrate every year. It means "holy evening," and it comes every October 31, the evening before All Saints' Day. However, it is not really a church holiday. It is a holiday for children mainly.

    Every autumn, when the vegetables are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkins. Then they cut faces in the pumpkins and put a burning candle inside. It looks as if there were a person looking out of the pumpkin! These lights are called jack-o'-lanterns, which mean "Jack of the lantern".

    The children also put on strange masks and frightening costumes every Halloween. Some children paint their faces to look like monsters. Then they carry boxes or bags from house to house. Every time they come to a new house, they say, "Trick or treat! Money or eat!" The grown-ups put treat-money or candy in their bags.

    Not only children, but most grown-ups also love Halloween and Halloween parties because on this day, they can disguise themselves as personages or ghost as their imaginations will lead them. These bring them the satisfaction of being young.
