It was Sunday afternoon. Maggie sat, putting her1 into the blue water of her family's new swimming pool. She had been expecting the pool for months.2 , she didn't feel so happy.

"Can we come back tomorrow, Dad?" asked Amelia. Everyone laughed.

A doctor, a lawyer（律师）, a little boy and an old man were out for a Sunday afternoon flight on a small plane. Suddenly, the plane had engine（发动机） trouble. At last, the pilot took a parachute（降落伞） and shouted to the four people that they had better jump, and then he himself jumped out. Unluckily, there were only three parachutes left.

The doctor took one and said, "I'm a doctor. I save lives, so I must live." Then he jumped out. The lawyer then said, "I'm a lawyer, and lawyers are smart people in the world. I must live." He also took a parachute and jumped out.

The old man looked at the little boy and said, "My boy, I live a long and full life. You are still young. Take the last parachute and live in peace." The little boy handed the parachute back to the old man and said, "Don't worry, grandpa. The smart man in the world just jumped out with my schoolbag."

My name is Bill.I took a trip to Ireland last weekend with my family.I didn't enjoy the trip because there were a lot of bad things.First，my brother forgot his passport （护照），and we missed our plane to Dublin in the morning.Mom wasn't very happy and blamed（责备） him.Luckily，there was a plane to Dublin in the afternoon and we got on that one.

When we took our things after getting off the plane，my dad's big bag wasn't there.The airline company （航空公司） said they would try to look for it.Then we took a bus to the camping place.We arrived late on Saturday evening，and we were very tired.We put up our tents in the evening，but in the middle of the night my tent fell down.I had to sleep in my sleeping bag.

The next morning，we went on a boat trip to an island （岛）.The trip took us two hours.When we arrived，it started to rain，so we sat in a small restaurant all morning，and then we took a boat back.It wasn't much fun!

I was very happy to get home.I was tired then.Looking back at our trip，I think we should be more careful and check （检查） if all our things are good next time.What's more，we should check the weather.

Wilbur is a fat and strong pig. He and other animals live on Mr Zuckerman's farm. He has a good friend called Charlotte. Charlotte is a spider (蜘蛛) and she is very good at spinning webs (织网). Days ago, the old sheep told Wilbur that Mr Zuckerman would kill him for Christmas dinner. Wilbur was afraid, but Charlotte said she would help him. 

Charlotte spent days and nights writing nice words about the pig Wilbur on her webs. They were excellent, humble (谦虚的), some pig and so on. 

"Wilbur is such a great pig. We will not kill him," Mr Zuckerman told Mrs Zuckerman. 

Wilbur isn't afraid any more. He comes to tell Charlotte the good news. "Do you feel happy for me, Charlotte?" Charlotte answers, "Sure, my friend." "Thank you so much, Charlotte. You make me a great pig, but you look so tired. What's the matter?" Wilbu r asks. 

Charlotte thinks for a minute and says, "Wilbur, I'm too tired. I'm afraid I'm going to die. I'm leaving you …" Wilbur begins crying. 

"Don't be sad, Wilbur! I'm just a spider. I'm nobody. But by helping you, my life is valuable (有价值的). Thank you!" Wilbur says in a sad voice. "What can I do, Charlotte? I would like to give you my life. I really would."

Charlotte smiles and says, "I believe in you. Look at the egg sac (卵囊). There are 540 eggs in it. That means I can have 540 children. You can look after them well, right?"

Wilbur says yes and cries again …

Niejiazhuang Village in Weifang is famous for colored clay sculpture handicraft (泥塑手工艺), which dates back to the Ming Dynasty. The Weifang government has {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (encourage) local people to learn traditional handicraft and make more money to get rid of poverty(脱贫).

Nie Peng {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (be) a young villager in Niejiazhuang. He is crazy about clay sculpture handicraft. He began learning it from his father when he was {#blank#}3{#/blank#} child. He has led lots of young craftsmen (手艺人) in and near {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (he) village to make colored clay sculptures and the handicraft has become an important way for local people to get {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (rich) than before.

The tiger is a typical subject for colored clay sculptures. Nie {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (start) to learn to make clay tigers in 2010, the Year of the Tiger. Over these years, he has seen the development of the art form. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} first, the clay tigers were all of the same small size. Now there are tigers of different {#blank#}8{#/blank#} and the largest can be over two meters tall. The tigers used to be colored pink and green, but now have become more colorful.

Today Nie cares for the future of clay sculpture handicraft {#blank#}9{#/blank#} encourages young craftsmen to create more works. He 65{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (real) hopes that the sculpture handicraft will be passed down to the next generation.
