阅读下列短文,从下面每小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。

Have you ever wanted to achieve a goal and ended up doing lots of research on how to achieve it? As you learned more and more, it seemed you knew less and less. That is because when you learned a new concept, you found that there was a lot more to know about it.

Usually, people think they need to get more and more information before trying a new idea. There is nothing wrong with learning a lot, but when you let learning get in the way of doing, you will never get going.

One of the best ways to learn is to take action and learn from the results that you get from those actions. Don't be afraid of not being perfect and just take the first step. You will go further than those who are still in preparation. It's good to be prepared, but overpreparation in trying to reach a goal won't get you results. The knowledge and skills that you will need will be picked up along the way.

Learning more is great but if all you're doing is learning and not taking action, it's time to change that. Just take the first step.

(1)、When people learned something new, what did they find?
A、There was less to know about it. B、They knew nothing about it. C、There was everything to know about it. D、They needed to know more about it.

"Tom? Are you in bed yet?" called Mrs White. There was no answer. Mrs White put down her book and went to her 14-year-old sons room. Tom was sitting in front of a bright computer screen on which a motorbike was running fast.

"Oh, Tom. You're still playing that computer game. You must stop now, because it's half past eleven. If you don't go to bed at once, you'll be very tired tomorrow." said Mrs White.

"But I've nearly won the game." Tom said to Mrs White. She could see the excitement on his face. she sat beside him and said, "You're always playing on the computer. You spend more time on this machine than on your homework."

Today more and more families have computers. Parents hope computers can help their children improve their study at school. But many of their children use computers to play games, listen to songs and watch videos instead of studying. We often see that net bars are crowded with people, especially young boys. They spend a lot of time and money competing(竞争) with the computerized(用计算机控制的) machines. The more they lose, the more they want to win. The result is that they don't want to work or study.

In some countries, even scientists hate computers. They say computers cause millions of bring them a lot of trouble. Computer game addiction(瘾) is a serious problem in social life. Something should be done to solve the problem.

①Have you ever asked somebody a question but they didn't reply because they were looking at their phones? Or have you ever found that hours have passed since you planned to play a game just for 10 minutes? Have you played the computer games or mobile phones for a long time a day? People are using digital products more than ever.

②On 2nd May, a centre for health study, Fairplay, came up with an idea of A Screen- Free Week. They encourage families to turn off their screens and enjoy activities in real life for one day a week. Their suggestion is based on the following facts.

③One study in 2020 found that young people in China aged between seven and sixteen spend about three hours and 48 minutes a day online. Another one in 2022 shows that people in Philippines spend more than 10 hours a day online, the highest in the world. What's more, a research shows that looking down at the phones for a long time is harmful to human spine (脊柱).

④Should people have one screen-free day a week?

⑤People who answer "Yes" think using digital products too much is bad for health. Too much time online can influence sleep and shorten the time for young people to focus on things. Instead, whether it's playing sports or reading a book, a day off line would help people focus on their hobbies. And hobbies can make people feel more rested and relaxed.

⑥However, some disagree with the point. They think that instead of banning(禁止) digital products for one day a week, people should be wise to know how often they are online and how this makes them feel. After all, receiving a funny dog video from a friend can make them feel happy and less lonely. Therefore, there is no need to ban digital products for one day.

⑦Surely, it's better to take daily breaks in the real world and turn screens off during mealtimes and an hour or two before bed. But it's unrealistic to spend a whole day offline. What if you find yourself in an emergency(紧急情况) and need to call someone for help? All in all, using digital products in a proper way is what really matters.
