Jin Ying, 25, is a lover of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She took part in a three- month training course on acupuncture and tuina（针灸推拿）in the winter of 2023 at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. 

Jin's life has been different since the training. She changed her life habits after learning the Five Elements theory. For example，she avoided sweating too much during exercise in winter because the cold of winter means people should slow down，according to TCM. For her，learning these skills and theories was not about becoming a TCM doctor but rather about holding a new lifestyle. 

She is not an unusual example of young people becoming interested in TCM. A survey by China Youth Daily showed that 93. 3 percent of the 1, 000 young people who took part had tried different TCM treatments. 

"I have seen a rising number of young people come to me for neck and back pains, which are usually related to the elderly，" said Ma Huifang，a TCM doctor at Guoyitang，a TCM hospital. 

Between Western medicine and TCM，young people often choose TCM "because of its efficacy，" according to Ma. Some people question why TCM treats the same illnesses with different prescriptions(处方); "This is actually an advantage of TCM，, rather than a shortcoming，as it can be a more accurate treatment（精准的治疗) for different patients, " Ma explained. 

Younger age groups are accepting TCM，and，at the same time，TCM is also benefiting young people. As Jin noted，"It helps young people-understand Chinese medicine well. "

Last Friday afternoon, my parents told me that they {#blank#}1{#/blank#} to take me to the countryside to enjoy the beauty of nature. I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} very happy about the trip. Before the trip, we prepared （把. . . . . . 准备好）everything for it. 

Then the next day, my father {#blank#}3{#/blank#}us to the countryside. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery（风景）. The {#blank#}4{#/blank#}are taller（更 高）and greener （更绿）than those in the city. We stopped our car at times and went out to breathe （呼吸）the fresh air. It was so {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. We felt so relaxed. 

Two hours later, we {#blank#}6{#/blank#}the countryside. It was so beautiful there. We saw some farmers working in the fields. We went to help them and they talked to us{#blank#}7{#/blank#} . 

We had {#blank#}8{#/blank#}picnic in the fields. We enjoyed ourselves very much. We all thought the life in the countryside was more interesting than that in the city. We all hoped to live in the countryside one day. 

In the middle of a cold night, I heard a loud sound outside. I 1 and looked out through the bedroom window. There was a little dog outside the door. It was 2 and shaking. The dog was black, so at first it was difficult to see at night. The yellow spots(斑点) on its eyes helped me 3 it. It was trying to get inside a box to get away from the cold air outside.

 Seeing the poor animal, I felt really 4 . I went near the little dog and wiped(擦) it till it was dry. Then I took it inside and made a(n) 5 for it with an old scarf and a small pillow. The dog seemed very comfortable in its new be d and went to 6 quickly.

 The next morning, I asked my parents if we could 7 it. They thought for quite a while and 8 . We named him Spotty. Soon Spotty became part of the 9 . Days passed on and he could take care of the house when we were out.

 Almost a year later, one midnight we heard Spotty barking(吠). We came out but saw nothing 10 outside. The next morning, I woke up and couldn't find Spotty. I searched for him everywhere, but he was nowhere to be seen. We waited for one long week. But we still couldn't find him.

"I am amazed at how his English has 5  so fast, " Mrs Franceschini said to my parents. "On his first day, he was very shy and only used 6  words. Now he can answer and ask questions by using complete sentences. "7  many other Chinese parents, my mum asked if she could give me extra homework. "Don't worry. Richard is already working very hard. Richard, you did a good job. I am 8  of you!" Mrs Franceschini said to me. 

Back in Shanghai, my teacher Miss Li was very 9 . I was nervous to take parents to the interview. 

Miss Li told my parents, "Feng Yu is doing pretty well. But because of his 10 , he lost three points in maths. "

I thought she was being harsh(严厉的) to me. But 11  I was about to leave, I realised Miss Li was very 12 . She hosted a party for me and gave me a big card. "Feng Yu, you are my best student. I 13  you a successful life, "she wrote. "If you want to have a talk or need any help, I am 14  here for you. "

Miss Li and Mrs Franceschini are both great teachers, just in different ways. One 15  my learning abilities and the other gave me tons of confidence. 

I'm Anna, a college student. I think I'm quite good at {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(cook). Most people seem to enjoy eating the food I cook for them.

I first {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(start) trying to cook when I left home and went to college. I didn't   have much money and it was much {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(cheap) to cook my own food sh an to eat in the canteen(餐厅). Also, it isn't healthy to eat out too often. One cool thing {#blank#}4{#/blank#} college is that I had a small kitchen. I' ve bought some {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(machine) for cooking. And I' ll buy a blender soon.

I learnt p y {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(I). I used the Internet to look for the recipes(食谱)I was interested  · in. I also asked my parents sometimes. However, when I first started croking, most of my food   {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) terrible. But I learnt quite fast. Now,I always invite(邀请) my friends to my room and cook for them {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(celebrate) every festival together.

 Except(除....之外) at {#blank#}9{#/blank#} very beginning,I think I' ve found it quite easy, mainly   {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I enjoy cooking and I enjoy eating. But it's not something that everyone can learn to do. I think some people are just too impatient(没有耐心的) to learn to cook well.
