When buying a backpack, there are several things you should consider. A backpack used for carrying school supplies, for example, may not need to have as many features as a backpack that is to be used for hiking or camping.

When buying a backpack, look for one that can easily be placed on your back. Many people carry their backpacks over only one shoulder.Backpacks are designed to be carried completely on your back, supported by both shoulders, in order to help evenly distribute (分配) the weight. In fact, carrying a backpack that is either too heavy or used improperly is one of the leading causes of back injuries in students.

If the backpack will be used for carrying textbooks, it must be wide enough to contain the width of the books it will carry. If the backpack is for hiking, it needs to be large enough to carry supplies such as a solar blanket and other camping things.

Another consideration when buying a backpack is the number of compartments (隔层) the backpack has. When used for hiking or camping, it's often helpful for a backpack to have several smaller compartments.

The material is also important when buying a backpack. When buying a backpack for hiking or camping, it is best to buy one that is strong enough.  If you are buying a backpack for college use, it might also help prevent your books and homework from getting wet while you are walking from one building on campus to another in the rain.

A. But this is actually a mistake.

B. There are backpacks different from traditional ones.

C. It is helpful to buy a backpack with much space inside.

D. It is important to buy one that will be comfortable to carry.

E. This way, important items such as knives are easy to reach.

F. Thus, your clothing or supplies will not get damaged in bad weather.

G. The most important consideration when buying a backpack is its future use.

The word “diary” comes from the Latin word “diarium”, which means “daily allowance”. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}And it is used for business notes, planning activities, keeping track of scheduled appointments, or documenting what has already happened. Some doctors suggest that writing in a diary is a good form of self-study.

In America, from the 1940s through the 1980s, a diary was thought of mostly as a way to privately express one's deepest thoughts while keeping notations about the day.  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Many times, movies would show a teenage girl beginning to write in her diary while she said aloud, “Dear diary”

It will continue over the course of several years to come. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Tips to fight summer weight gain

When we think of summer, most of us think of outdoor fun. So it seems like we should naturally lose weight over the summer — not gain it. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Lots of summer activities can work against our efforts to stay at a healthy weight. The good news is that it's easy to avoid problems if we know what to look out for.

Get going with goals. When we don't have a plan, it's easy to spend summer moving from couch to computer, with regular stops at the fridge. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Just be sure to plan for some downtime so you can relax a little!

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} With school out, we lose our daily routines. If you don't have a specific job or activity to get up for, it's easy to sleep late, watch too much TV, and snack more than usual. Make sure your summer days have some structure — like getting up at the same time each day and eating meals at set times. Plan activities for specific times, like exercising before breakfast, for example. If you have time on your hands, offer to make dinner a couple of nights a week so your family can enjoy a sit-down meal together.

    Think about what and how you eat. Summer means picnics and barbecues — activities that revolve around an unlimited spread of food. Pace yourself. Don't overload your plate. Avoid going back for seconds and thirds. Choose seasonal, healthy foods like fresh fruit instead of high-sugar, high-fat desserts. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}

Stay busy. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} In addition to helping you avoid the cookie jar, filling your days with stuff to do can give you a sense of accomplishment. That's especially true if a dream summer job or planned activity fell through. Limit your screen time — including TV, computer, and video games — to no more than 2 hours a day.

A. Stick to a schedule.

B. Plan more activities.

C. Appropriate summer eating sets you up on the right track!

D. Most of us, however, don't take summer weight gain seriously.

E. In reality, though, summer isn't all about beach volleyball and water sports.

F. When we're bored, it's easy to fall into a trap of doing nothing and then feeling low on energy.

G. Avoid this by setting a specific aim, like volunteering, mastering a new skill, or working at a job.

Ways to Fight and Overcome Laziness

You read productivity tips, you've used a million todo list apps, and you promise yourself every month that you're going to start being productive, but it never happens. Here's how to break the cycle when you feel like your problem is just laziness.

Simple things first: It's important to get started with the task you're willing to perform in order to fight laziness. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Doing so will help you to break your inner resistance.

Stepbystep: {#blank#}2{#/blank#} And it will keep us motivated to perform these tasks one after the other in a relaxed manner. Once you have completed one subtask you can tell yourself that you're on a roll and that you will soon have finished the next subtasks as well.

Remove distractions: Whatever it is that distracts you (TV, the Internet, etc.), remove it! {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Make sure that once you have started with one of your tasks, you will not get distracted from it by any means.

Reward yourself: Every time you manage to overcome laziness and successfully complete a task you should reward yourself, as this will give you positive feeling about making efforts to get things done. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Little reward for small efforts and vice versa (反之亦然).

Don't give up: It's one thing to find your motivation. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Rather than letting difficulties demotivate you, see them for what they are and refuse to be beaten by them. You're not alone and staying focused on working through challenges is one of the best ways to fight them.

A. Turn off distractions and focus on your goals.

B. Just make sure to adapt the reward to the efforts you made.

C. A list of weekly goals will help you stay focused and motivated.

D. A method that helps you do so is to start with the simple things first.

E. Occasional rewards will sweeten the tasks and help keep you on track.

F. But it's quite something else to keep it going when running into difficult problems.

G. Breaking down tasks into smaller tasks helps us to reduce the pressure of deadlines.
