A video of Wang Deshun, an 88-year-old model and actor, strutting the catwalk at Shanghai Fashion Week {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(sweep) the internet recently. His distinctive white beard and robust physique, complemented by a vibrant red suit, captivated the audience with a {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(strike)contrast.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} in 1936, this 88-year-old grandpa's spirit is as strong as ever. "I still have dreams and pursuits. I can do now what I could not do in the past, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} that is what rebirth should be about."

Due to the physical {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(require) of pantomime, Wang, at 50 years old, decided to hit the gym. Training for two hours was followed by two hours of swimming every single day for 30 years, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} helped him shape a healthy and strongly-built body.

"Thirty years ago, I used {#blank#}7{#/blank#} models how to walk with the help of my wife. One day (in 2015), one of our students asked about my body's condition, and I said it's fine. So I was invited to make {#blank#}8{#/blank#} appearance in the show," Wang said, recalling the events that led to overnight fame.

After making waves in the fashion industry{#blank#}9{#/blank#}a male model in his late 70s, the then 85-year-old Wang was once again defying stereotypes concerning the elderly by taking {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a new challenge: getting a pilot's license.

On their {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（arrive）in Toronto ，Li Daiyu and her cousin spent a few hours touring the city and having dinner with Lin Fei ， {#blank#}2{#/blank#} was Li Daiyu's mother's old schoolmate. She told the girls there were a few more Chinatowns in the Greater Toronto Area and there were many Chinese people  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（live） in Canada. Therefore ，they could get all {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（kind）of great food there from all over China.

At night ，the train left late and arrived in Montreal early the next morning. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} surprised the girls was that all the signs and advertisements {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（be）in French and many people spoke English with {#blank#}7{#/blank#} accent. As their train wouldn't leave until evening ，they spent the afternoon  {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（go）around the city. When they sat in a restaurant ，a young man named Jean-Philippe joined them. He told them something about the city and hoped they would stay a little {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（long）to visit wonderful sights of the city.

On the train towards the province of Nova Scotia ，the cousins dreamt {#blank#}10{#/blank#}（happy）of the beautiful cobblestone streets ，old brick buildings ，and the red maple leaves of Montreal.

Torrie, 16, and her friend Azarria were driving back home when another car hit them. When Torrie opened her eyes, she 1 their car had been pushed into a tree. There came 2 from the gathering crowd as the car was smoking. Torrie's door wouldn't open, but her window became an escape 3 .

"Everyone ran away, fearing the car was going to 4 . But turning around, I didn't see Azarria. I ran back and saw she was 5 in the back seat. I decided to help her out of the 6 ."

"I didn't know how I made it. I just became stronger at that moment," she says. She 7 a bystander to call 911 and started CPR.

After 30 chest compressions and two rescue breaths, Azarria began to show 8 of life. Just then, the paramedics 9 to rush Azarria to the nearest hospital.

10 for both girls, their Lakewood High School offers a First-Aid Skills class taught by Erika Miller. Torrie had earned her 11 in the class just the day before this accident.

"I was absolutely astonished," Erika says. "In my years of teaching, I never 12 a student would finish the course and in 24 hours have to 13 CPR on her friend."

"I was grateful to Torrie, but I wasn't surprised." Azarria says. "She would have done that for anyone. That's 14 just of her.

"First-aid training should be a(n) 15 in schools," Torrie says. "It can make a difference between life and death."

I was getting more excited as we got off the train at beautiful Grand Central Station. After a tour at the Museum of Modern Art, we1 Radio City Music Hall and the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. In one of the 2 in the area, I found a tiny boxed set of Peter Rabbit books, perfect for my 3 . Was there anything like Christmas in New York? Having experienced an exciting and tiring tour, we called a  4   back to Grand Central Station.

On the way home I realized that my handbag was gone—lost or 5  , I had no idea. All the magic of this special day  6  . I glumly(闷闷不乐地) imagined a crowded Department of Motor Vehicles and all the phone calls that I'd have to make to get my  7   cards replaced with new ones. And I'd never 8  all those precious photos to my daughters.

The days slipped by while I got rides to college and  9 going to the DMV( 车 管 所 ) at such a busy time of year. Then I got an unexpected 10 , a box with the return address of Radio City Music Hall.  11  , I opened it and shouted in a joyful  12   .

There was my old handbag, with everything 13  good inside—license, cards and photos—and one thing that hadn't been there  14  , a handwritten note, saying, "I found this handbag lying under the seat of my taxi by  15   . Merry Christmas!"

Whenever our teachers or parents asked about our hobbies at childhood, my friends and I would always express our love for reading. However, with the development of high technology, our lives are gradually 1 by electronic screens of all sizes. They attract our attention like magnets（磁铁）and gradually 2 us from the world of books.

There was a time when I felt like my life went downhill, and with increased 3 from school, physical tiredness and emotional burdens（负担）, I had to watch short 4 to distract（分散）myself from those troubles.

This situation changed when one day I 5 a book called The Grapes of Wrath by a US writer. When I opened the cover and started reading, I felt like being hit 6 on my head. The wonderful story and beautiful writing attracted me. Although the characters in the book face 7 survival challenges, they still try to live in hard times and struggle for their dreams. This 8 spirit deeply inspired me, allowing me to gradually 9 my confidence in the future.

Now I carry this book either at the dining table or during school breaks. As a student who has a（n）10 of making films, this book also gave me creative 11 . The historical scenes described in the book and the deep human nature 12 within opened a door to the hall of art for me, allowing me to understand that reading cannot only 13 the spirit, but also cause creativity.

Why should we choose to ignore（忽视）such 14 like this book? Finally, I would like to appeal to my peers to protect our eyes and minds, and make 15 choices between books and screens.

71-year-old, Helen Lloyd Jones from Cardiff recently completed her first marathon and is encouraging others of her age to take up the challenge. "Do it. We only live once," she said after the event.

Helen took up running in her 50's while working as a teacher. After jogging alongside one of her students during a sports day race, Helen said, "I felt terrible, absolutely terrible. It was a wakeup call and I started to practise jogging."

Helen started attending her local parkrun, but decided she needed a bigger challenge to keep her motivated. Once the idea of running 26.2 came into her head, she was decided, and set her sights on running a larger race, using the support of the crowds to get her round.

Helen didn't tell her husband for the first five months of her training as she knew he'd be worried about the toll the distance might have on her, saying g afterwards, "The difference between the man who waved me goodbye and the smiling man who greeted me when I returned was a reflection of how much he had been worrying. But he is very proud of me."

At 71, Helen explains how she didn't do her training "by the book". After trying to do a long run, a speed run and a hill run each week, she soon found her body was not able to recover fast enough between sessions. Instead, she chose one long run a week with her local running club Pegasus and friend Sally, so she could feel confident with the distance. 

A proud grandmother, Helen is I now taking her grandchildren to parkruns and junior parkruns. She hopes that they will remember running with their grandmother when they grow up. Are there more marathons in her future? "I said I would only do the one, but have a feeling that if I got a place in London or New York... I might change my mind."
