Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday. The day after it has been known as Black Friday. It is the start of the holiday shopping season，and it has been the busiest shopping day of the year in the US since 2005.Most stores offer big sales on Black Friday. They open their doors quite early in the morning. They try to attract shoppers with big discounts. Some items(商品)like TVs and clothes are much cheaper than usual. Stores may even lose money on these items. They hope that shoppers will buy gifts for other people while they are in the store. Black Friday is a great time to go shopping. However，there are problems. The biggest one is that there are not enough low—priced items. Each store may only have a few. So people stand in long lines to get them. They may wait three to four hours before a store opens.

    Mrs. Jenkins is now in a big shop. She is going to buy a coat. She is standing at the counter(角落). She is waiting for（等候）the woman in the shop. A fat woman is standing near her. She is looking at Mrs. Jenkins. "Excuse me?" "Yes?" says Mrs. Jenkins. The fat woman says, "Can you help me? I want a coat." Mrs. Jenkins says, "I'm sorry. I can't help you." "Of course(当然) you can help me. That's your work." Mrs. Jenkins answers, "It's not my work. I want a coat, too. I am a buyer(顾客). I'm not the one in the shop."

    Every day, Mr. Smith sees a man near his home. The man has a pair of sunglasses (太阳镜) and sits on the ground. In front of the man, there is a hat with some money (钱) in it. Beside the man, there is a dog. Around the dog's neck, there is a board (牌子). It says "I'm blind". Mr. Smith gives the man some money every afternoon on his way home. One day, Mr. Smith walks by the man, but he does not give him any money.

    "Why don't you give me money today?" the man asks. Mr. Smith is very surprised (惊讶的).

    "Aren't you a blind man?" he asks.

    "No, I'm not. But my dog is blind (瞎的)." the man says.
