    My stay in Thailand has certainly been the experience of my life．

    Life is busy and exciting．Bangkok is just like any other big city with a population of 10  million and heavy traffic．I'm very lucky because my host family is in a nice quiet area outside the city．There are Mr. and Mrs. Phairat, their son Sanan, who is 18, the daughter Chinda, who is 16, and Grandpa and Grandma．

    I go to an international school with Sanan and Chinda．The school teaches about 70 percent in English，and 30 percent in Thai. I've learned some spoken language，but Thai writing is very difficult．The cooking lesson is my favourite．I'm learning all about Thai food and culture People don't use chopsticks here，but spoons and forks．When I come back，I'm going to cook you a real Thai meal．

    Last weekend we visited some temples．We also drove to Pattaya beach near Bangkok．I thought it was great，but Sanan and Chinda say that next month they're taking me to Phuket  Island，where the beaches are even more beautiful．The month after next，we're going to travel to Mr．Phairat's hometown in the north of Thailand．The Phairats own land there，and they have two elephants．I'm going to ride those elephants — and even wash them．Sanan and  Chinda say it's really fun．I'm amazed by everything in this country，especially by the elephants．Elephants are an  important pan of Thai culture and way of life．They have been a traditional symbol(象征)of Thailand for many years in times of war and peace．In the seventh century，a Thai king trained 20,000 elephants for battle．

My favourite athlete(运动员) is Ma Long. He's one of the 1 table tennis players in the world.

Just like many other2 athletes, Ma Long has made great achievements(成就) in table tennis through hard work. Born in 1988, Ma Long3 to play table tennis at 5. When he was 13, his ability in table tennis was noticed by a coach. Therefore, he had to leave4 hometown for Beijing so that he 5 continue to train for table tennis. In 2003, Ma Long joined the national team. He trained very hard,6 he became a great player later.

So far Ma long has won many gold medals. In the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, he became the champion of both men's singles and men's team. It was his third time7  part in it. In the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2023, he won the gold medal of men's team with his teammates . 8 he does, he never gives up. In my heart, Ma Long is a symbol of courage and success. He is9 amazing table tennis player! As a Chinese, I am so proud10 him.

Jing Baoshan，69，lives a quiet life in Pinglu County， "Baoshan" 1 "protecting the mountains"，something he seems to have been doing in his life. 

In 1970，the then 17-year-old 2 the army and became a soldier. After 17 years，Jing3 to his I hometown in Pinglu and worked as a forest ranger （护林员）. He worked there for 25 years until he retired in 2012.4 his 25 years of service，he worked alone most of the time and met a number of5 situations. Fighting forest fires was one of them. 

In 2000，he was patrolling （巡逻） when he found one fire. He called for6 from the closest village. As more firemen made their way，Jing and five farmers were7 the fire when the wind suddenly changed direction. Four of the farmers8 . Jing and the surviving farmer were9 hurt. He felt very sad for those farmers' deaths and that was one of the reasons why he decided to devote （奉献） the rest of his life to the forest. 

On October 1^st ， 2019，Jing was invited to the ceremony10 the 70th anniversary （周年纪念）of the founding of the People' s Republic of China. He said he would11 forget it for the rest of his life. 

Now，Jing continues to12 the forest as a volunteer at least once every two weeks. Smart GPS plays a very important role in keeping the rangers13 today. Jing believes the14 show the country's development. More importantly，he said that people are now coming to15 the importance of a well﹣ protected environment.
