There are four seasons in a year.  All seasons have their colours.  What is every season's colour?

Spring is green.  When spring comes, trees begin to bud (发芽).  It's a green world.  When we see green, we are happy.  Spring is the best season for parents and children to fly kites. 

Summer is different.  It's usually very hot, so the season is red.  In summer, the flowers look so beautiful.  Some children like summer because they can go swimming. 

The weather in autumn usually gets cool.  The fruits on the trees and rice are signs (标志) of autumn.  Its colour is yellow.  In the season, farmers are very busy.  Of course, they are happy too.  It's also a good season for people to go for a walk. 

What about winter? When it snows, everything becomes white.  So it is a white season.  Winter is cold and long but people like to play with snow in winter. 

These days, some videos on big smiles won many people's hearts online. The man behind the videos is Mei Xiao. He hopes his videos can help cheer others up. Mei was{#blank#}1{#/blank#} in Chongqing in1995. He {#blank#}2{#/blank#} up in a poor family, and saw how hard his mother worked to support the family. So Mei made up his {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to improve their lives. Mei got a {#blank#}4{#/blank#} at a restaurant after leaving school. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} , he had always dreamed of being a comedian (喜剧演员). So in 2016, he went to Hengdian. There he worked as a background {#blank#}6{#/blank#} . One day in 2019, while thinking about the days he spent in Hengdian, he decided to make short videos about his life and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} them online. In his videos, he was always smiling. To his {#blank#}8{#/blank#} , many people left warm messages under the videos to say thanks to him for cheering them up. " I am very moved and realized that a little encouragement(鼓励) could make a big {#blank#}9{#/blank#} , " says Mei. 

Up to today, Mei has {#blank#}10{#/blank#} more than 1, 000 videos. What a great young man!

What would you do if your best friend and you have different ideas? At first, I didn't know how to do when I found that my best friend Karina disagreed (不同意) with me on some things.

 When we first met in a summer camp, we got along so well.

 But then something happened at a picnic. "Did you hear about the shopping center news?" asked one of our friends Levar. "They want to cut down lots of trees to make room for a shopping center."

"That's terrible! We have to stop that," I said.

"I disagree," said Karina. "The shopping center would give new jobs to people in need."

"But animals would lose their homes!" I said. "I want people to have jobs, but it doesn't mean cutting down trees."

I wished Karina could agree with me about saving the trees, but she had her reasons for believing what she did. I was so angry that I didn't talk to her for days.

 Later, my mother knew it and said to me, "No two people are the same. You should respect(尊重) each other. And no matter what happens, the difference doesn't mean losing a good friend."

 After listening to my mom's words, I said sorry to Karina and we are still good friends now.

Billy Ray Harris was homeless. He spent each day on the streets of Kansas City, begging for money or food. Every day, as he sat thinking about his life, he occasionally heard the sound of a coin or two coming into his cup. One day, the noise was louder than usual. If Billy had looked up, he'd have seen a young lady on her way to work. But he didn't. Later when he looked into the cup, he could hardly believe what he saw. At the bottom was a shining diamond ring.

Two days later, a young woman came while he was begging. She introduced herself as Sarah Darling and asked if he'd found anything unusual in his cup. Billy reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring. When he saw the smile on her face, he knew he'd made the right decision. She explained when putting the coins into his cup, she'd forgotten putting her ring in her purse.

But the story doesn't end there. Sarah told her husband the story and wanted to post it on the Internet. He thought it was a good idea. They also called on raising money for Billy. They had more than $185,000. Billy Ray Harris no longer spends his days begging. He has a home and a job. The story also made the local news and he was reunited with his two sisters, who he hadn't seen for 16 years. If he hadn't done the right thing, he wouldn't have seen his sisters again.

 Have you heard of mental toughness? Often talked about in relation to sports, mental toughness is characterized by the ability to always perform well under stress. Research has shown that it is also a useful quality (品质) for students, with benefits for school achievement, classroom behavior, and relationships with others.

 However, mental toughness is often misunderstood. It is sometimes related to hiding your feelings, or not acknowledging (承认) your weaknesses, which can harm student well-being, as well as school performance and socializing.

 So, what actually is mental toughness, and how can it be developed in schools?

 Students who show mental toughness are aware of and able to control their emotions. This helps them to think clearly under stress, on the day of exams for example. One way to help with this is to encourage students to talk to themselves in a positive and helpful way. Students may be upset if they don't do as well on a task as they hoped. By asking themselves questions, such as"What would I do differently next time?", they can stop focusing on the negatives and direct their attention towards improving in the future.

 Mental toughness means asking for help. Many students are too ashamed to do it, for fear they would show weakness by acknowledging they don't understand something. However, others actually consider it a positive quality. Recognizing when they are experiencing difficulties takes courage for students, but it also shows a willingness to learn and get better.

 Mental toughness is also about being open to learning, not being a know-it-all. Over time, the students who grow the most are those who like to explore things, looking for answers in books, online, or by paying attention to what's happening around them. They also work together, helping each other with challenges.

 What's more, mental toughness involves having a strong sense of self-belief and confidence in one's abilities. Mentally tough students have a clear idea of their goals, and their wills to achieve them are unwavering. They are not easily influenced by others' opinions and are willing to step outside of their comfort zone to reach their goals.

 To create mentally tough students and classrooms, it is important for teachers themselves to be role models. Teachers can develop their mental toughness in much the same way as students. In order to develop mental toughness, both students and teachers should recognize that it、 is about having positive behaviors and attitudes that help them learn and improve.

Before going back to work one afternoon, Policeman Li took a big bite out of the red apple on his desk. He had no time to eat his lunch that day. He was busy dealing with a traffic accident report.
