Welcome to England! The weather of England is very changeable. It can be rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy, warm, foggy or cold at any time of year. If it's raining when you get up in the morning, it can be hot and dry by the afternoon. The west of England is wetter than the east, and the north is cooler than the south. Just be ready for any kind of weather.  

    In England, shops are usually open from 9: 00 in the morning to 5: 30 in the afternoon. On Sundays some shops are open from 10: 00 a. m. to 4: 00 P. m. But a lot of shops are closed. Banks, museums or other places are open from 10: 00 a. m to 5: 00 P. m. You can go to the parks at any time.

    All the cities have buses, trains and taxis. People wait in line for buses and they are unhappy if you push in at the front. Don't forget this--traffic goes on the left. Be careful!

    Hot pot(火锅)is many Chinese people's favorite and Liu Yang is one of them.

    Three days ago, Liu Yang arrived in England . There he had three days of hamburgers, sandwiches and potatoes. Yesterday he was very excited when he heard that there was going to be a meal of hot pot to welcome the new students.

    He went into the room and sat next to an American girl. To his surprise, he saw potatoes and bread in front of him. Where was the hot pot?

    When she saw Liu Yang was very surprised , the American girl told him that hotpot is NOT hot pot. China has hot pot in two words but English hotpot is written in one word.

    Hotpot is made from meat, potatoes and onions. People put it in the oven（烤箱）all day in a heavy pot and on a low heat. It is easy to cook.

    Hot pot tastes fine. But Liu Yang still misses hot pot, two words!

    Recently, Chongqing Three Gorges University has held an activity named “Cell Phone Ninja”(手 机忍者). They would like their students not to use cell phones for 21 days. It is really a challenge( 挑 战)for most students.

    The activity started on April 12. Each student who volunteered to take part in this activity got a bracelet(手环). If the students did not use their cell phones, there would be a photo on the screen of the bracelet to show that. If they used their cell phones, a different photo would appear on the screen of the bracelet. After the last class of each day, the students sent the photos to the school's public Wechat.

    More than 800 students wished to take part in this test, and 400 were chosen. After seven days, only 103 students remained. The test was set for 21 days because some scientists believe that 21 days is long enough to help people form a habit.

    According to the teachers in the university, the activity was not a competition. It depended on students themselves to make the decision. The teachers hoped their students could form better study habits through activities like this one.

    Mickey Wilson set out to have fun skiing on a Colorado mountain. But he ended up saving a man's life.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}The story was published on Facebook and had been shared thousands of times in the past 24hours.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Chairlift carry people from the bottom of a mountain to its top, so they can ski down the hill. Wilson's friends was wearing a bag on his back. The man was hanging from the chairlift, with the bag tied around his neck {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Other skiers gathered under the man's chair and tried to think of a way to reach him, but they could not get him down.

    Wilson had an idea, he climbed up a very tall tree and then climbed across the chairlift's wire to reach his friend. He used a life to cut off the strap of the bag that was caught .His friend fell over three meters into the snow where rescue workers were waiting.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Wilson said he was confident to help his friend because of his e xperience as a professional slackliner.(职业绳索运动员)
