阅读下面一篇短文,从每小题所给的选项中选出能回答所提问题的最佳答案。

When I looked at thegrade(分数) on my math paper, I was shocked: a big "65"in bright red ink. As a good student in my teachers' eyes, I had never receivedsuch a terrible grade before.

I was so afraid that when I got home thatafternoon I lied to my dad. I told him I got 85 and the report(报告) wouldn't come until theend of the month. Dad smiled. Because he never thought that his daughter wouldlie to him.

A month later, Dad asked me again about thereport at the dinner table. He looked right into my eyes and asked for ananswer. Having no choice, I told him that I had in fact just 65 in my mathexam. I told a lie because I didn't want to let him down.

For a moment, he just looked at me. After a quiet moment, in the end, Dad said, in a hurt voice, "You have already let me down, with your lie. I am not sad at your math score(分数). That is no big deal — no one can be perfect all the time. However, I am very sorry for you. If you can't be honest with your dad, who can you be honest with? It's much easier to get a better grade than rebuild(重建) others'trust in you."

Dad's words touched my heart. I took out thereport, gave it to him and said sorry to him. My father smiled and touched myhead gently, "I'm glad you understand that." At that time, I knewthat my honesty is not only important to myself, but to those around me thattruly care about my happiness.

Recently, many people think it's risky to use credit card numbers online. However, from time to time passwords and ID numbers on the Internet We think we are safe, but that may not be true! A new kind of attack is being used by dishonest people to steal IDs and credit card numbers from web surfers. This new kind of attack is called "phishing"

Phishing sounds the same as the word "fishing", and it means that a thief is trying to trick people into giving away valuable information, Like real fishermen, phishers use bait in the form of great online deals or services. For example, phishers might use false emails and websites to trick people into revealing (透露) credit card numbers, account usernames, and passwords. They imitate (模仿) well-known banks, online sellers, and credit card companies. Successful phisher s may make as many as 5%of the people believe and give away their personal in formation.

★     Actually, tricking 5% of the online population is huge. Now more than 4. 6 billion people have access (进入权) to the Internet, and 75% of those Inter net users live in the wealthiest countries on Earth. It has been reported that phishers send more than 40 billion false messages each year. Even by tricking only 5%of the people, phishers can make a lot of money.

Amy, 18, from California, received an e mail. A man told Amy that she could get a million dollars in her account as a reward if she sent a thousand dollars to him. Amy did as the man said at once. The "thief" used Amy's Social Security number to get credit cards in her name and transferred her money.

How can people avoid being cheated online? Above all, they have to learn to recognize the e-mail that be sent by a phisher. Always be careful with any email with urgent requests for personal information. Phishers typically write upsetting or exciting, but false statements in their emails so that people will reply right away Never give out personal information to phishers. And if an offer sounds too good to be true, it is.

Whether we're young or old, rich or poor, we have one thing in common: The moon has always looked down at each of us when it lights up the night sky.

Just like a mirror(镜子), the moon reflects(反射) the sun's light. It can also reflect people's feelings. This is probably why the moon is always popular among Western and Chinese music, poems and other forms of literature. So when we look at the moon, what do we see looking back at us? Well, that depends on who's looking.

The ancient Greek poet Sappho, for example, saw the moon as a woman who lit up space with her beauty.

Later in England, however, the moon's image(形象) was completely different. In the Middle Ages, English people often drank to get away from difficult life. In their eyes, the moon was a man who liked drinking. In London, at least three pubs(酒馆) were named Man in the Moon. It's probably because the bright moon at night looks like a man's red face after drinking.

▲  Chinese Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai's Quiet Night Thought reads, "I look up to the bright moon, and then I look down and think of my home town. " Similarly, Zhang Jiuling wrote in another poem, "Looking at the moon and thinking of one far away. " So in Chinese culture, when people look at the moon, they may miss their home town and someone. Very interesting, right?

 阅读下列短文, 从各题所给的A、B、C和D 项中选出最佳选项。

Alice was very excited. One of her favourite writers had just published a new book. She had saved up her money, and she was ready to buy the book this weekend. She talked about the book with her online chat (聊天) group. A lot of the other kids in the group were going to buy the book, too. In fact, that was the main thing everyone in the chat room was talking about one afternoon.

All of a sudden, Alice got a chat message from Ella, one of the kids in the chat room. The message said that Ella wanted to meet Alice at the bookstore. Then they could buy the new book together. Alice told her mum about the message, and her mum asked, "Do you know Ella from school? "

"No, "Alice answered. "We' ve only chatted online. I don't think she goes to my school. "

"Listen, "Alice's mum was anxious and said, "I want you to have friends, but sometimes, people online aren't who they say they are. And when you' re online, you can't always tell. So I don't think it's a good idea for you to meet this person. "

"But, Mum, "Alice said, "what if it is just a kid named Ella who wants to buy a book with me? "

Alice's mum considered that for a moment. Then she said, "Let's do this. Dad and  I will go with you to the bookstore to buy the book with Ella. If Ella really is just a kid who wants to meet you in person, that's great. If not,      ▲      . "

Alice didn't like that idea. It made her feel like a baby. But she knew her mum was right about safety, so she finally nodded. Then she answered Ella's message. She told Ella that she and her parents would be at the bookstore the next afternoon.

The next day, Alice went to the bookstore with her mum and dad. When Ella never showed up and then disappeared from the chat room, Alice knew her parents were right. She was glad they were there to be with her.
